Start with a loaf of purchased bread (see recipes)...and make...
Garlic Pull-Apart Bread (Serves 8; Active time=30min and Total time=1 hour)
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. dried Italian herbs
1 (1 lb, 6 oz.) loaf crusty bread
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
Heat oven to 400F. In bowl, mix FIRST THREE ingredients with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Slice bread in crosshatch pattern (do not cut all the way through, *meaning not to the bottom of loaf). Stuff crevices (in the bread) with mozzarella; spoon in garlic butter.
Line baking sheet with foil; place loaf in centre. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Bring foil up to enclose (tranport loaf in foil, then bake at destination *if you are bringing this dish to a gathering). Bake for 30 minutes; uncover for LAST 10 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley.
