We love the taste (and the price with a coupon ) of Delissio garlic bread pizza. I have made it a few times now and every time I cook one it seems to smoke uncontrollably in my oven and it smells funny. Sometimes it sets the smoke detector off. The weird thing is that the pizza is still frozen and not burnt at all. It like a burning butter chemical smell, very strange. Is it just me and my horrible cooking?

Hmmm.... that's odd, don't know what could be up.
We've had the chicken one many times and never had anything unusual happen when baking it.

Weird, I wonder why mine does that every time I agree about the grease. I only buy them for a treat when we get them super cheap with a coupon. During the last sale, I got one for about $1.98

Me three! I just did an All Dressed one, put it right on the rack as the instructions say, and it smoked like mad. I quickly got it onto my pizza stone and it stopped smoking.

It doesn't even smell like food, it smells like plastic burning or something. Anyhow, we cooked it, we ate some, and I'm glad I only paid $2 for it. Not nearly as good as other Delissio pizzas we've tried.

Cooked one on Saturday... same thing. Thought it was the oven needing cleaning... but I just cleaned it. Turned the heat down a little... ended up putting it on a baking sheet.

All three kinds that we have do it; the all dressed, 3 cheese & pepperoni. Everything is exactly to the specifications on the box for a crisp crust, yet minutes into the cooking it smells like burning plastic & smokes like crazy.
It's not my oven either, I have a self cleaning oven, so it's clean & there is nothing in there to cause it. I have also tried putting a sheet of tinfoil on the bottom in case something was dripping from it and causing the problem, but that doesn't seem to be it either.
They never used to do that at all. Many months ago there was no issue, but the last couple of batches are doing it. Since it's clearly more than just a problem in my house, I think my Delissio buying days are over.

Maybe y'all should let the manufacturer know about the negative experience.
They may compensate you for this.
