Found out via a newsletter that the No Name Mobile service is affliated with PC Mobile, which is run with Bell networks.

Sim cards can be obtained at No Frills stores. There are 4 plans offered, and all of them come with voice mail and other features.
Payment by credit card for auto billing nets subscribers bonus data. The only other way to pay is by prepaid card and when the active period runs out on the non-refundable cards, the prepaid card is not carried forward (ditto any unused data, balance etc.)

I'll admit the plans sound compelling. $15 per month cell service? Would 1 GB data be enough to support Viber calls?

I have not seen any linkages on earning PC Optimum points for mobile plans/phone upgrades the way that sometimes PC Mobile does offer.

Found out that No Name Mobile and its sister brand PC Mobile do not permit wi-fi calling. The Terms of Service seem a copy and paste production that contradicts some of its stated claims.
You can use a PC Mobile top up card on No Name Mobile account but you cannot swap in a PC Mobile sim card into a No Name mobile phone.

Since our household needs Canada & US calling (incoming/outgoing), that is a second item to fulfill on the journey to digital home phone service. It also seems that a new budget cellphone is going to be needed in order to access plan information for the one under consideration.

Not all No Frills stores seem to have SIM cards or staff who know about the new cellular program. Do be prepared to wait for SIM cards to turn up at your local store or ready yourself for cross-city travels to other other No Frills stores to find the SIM Card ($5). I did read of a person who got their SIM card free-not sure if it was a chance giveaway or marketing freebie to push the new service.
