I was a tad confused about the reference to the weather guarantee and listening/calling in (I've been somewhat lax in my contest entries). I went back a bit in this thread and thanks to your discussion, am now "in the know".

My initial reaction was akin to Peter Finch's Network rant.

As they say, you can't fight City Hall nor Rogers. Rather than go "Finch", I came up with PlanB.

Typically, I cannot listen to the radio on weekdays at 4:21 pm - but I should be able to make a call.

At 4:27 pm on Monday, and each missed weather guarantee day thereafter, I plan to call 680. I will claim that it was very noisy in my car/in the cafeteria/in the subway/in the meeting room/with the kids crying/with the dog barking/walking down the street with the jackhammers going off (you get the idea) - and I thought I heard my name announced.

The time was calculated. After learning of kbossman's 590 issue and taking a cue from Owdatoon's time reference ('ya actually had me LOLing at that one) I scoped out this afternoon's 4:21 traffic and weather report. The report finished at 4:25 pm per my tablet and TV's digital converter (both synched to rogers time). Add another minute to announce the winner and another for good luck. I won't call too early and I'll still have the bulk of the 10 minute deadline as a cushion.

I didn't say it was a good plan - I just said it was a plan.
