As far as the Kleenex brand leaving Canada, tbh I never buy that brand. However, I STILL call the brands that I do buy ( Royale, sometimes NN ) " kleenex " . That's just a " ha ha - habit ". Same as TP, it's rare I call it bathroom tissue.
My morning was long and tedious. Left the house around 8 a.m. Never got back home until nearly 1 p.m. Said goodbye to my chiro gal today....booked my follow up for the end of September, which means a whole month on my own!

Btw, has anyone had issues with NF stores suddenly NOT price-matching Metro? Hmmmm, I really wanted those organic raspberries @ $1.99 , then on the front page of the FB flyer posted in SC it shows the same organic raspberries even cheaper @ $1.29 BUT when I pulled out the FB paper flyer I get, there weren't there so I couldn't even PM them from FB at NF.
So I drove over to Metro but THEY had none saying this strike is affecting their supplies coming in. So I'm raspberry-less now.

The 2L Natrel milk on sale at Metro with 15 AM wyb 2, they had none of the 2%. Grrrr! But then I did " math " and bought 1 x 2L each of 3% and 0%. I'll be dumping equal parts of each kind into the 2L carton that's almost empty in the fridge so the guys won't know a thing! Telling them would only get me the " hairy eyeball ", so why bother?

I made a separate trip to WM to get .94 Blackberries but of course they had none. Then they said we could take the organic ones for that price, so I got 2 trays
Sadly, another $5.00 deal I wanted from WM was listed IN their flyer but I was told that THIS store doesn't carry it??? But, but... but it's IN your flyer!??
Apparently she said all WM flyers are printed up with the same items but not all locations carry every item? How the heck am I to know which store carries what
    item?
The product was these individual hummus cups.

@walkonby - that is a good deal on the hummus. I will have to check and see if my store carries it.

FYI- Tangerine updated GIC rates. The ones that got my attention:
    6% for 18 months
    5.95% for 1 year

@walkonby , we are the same we call it Kleenex but I think it is the Scotties brand we buy when Costco puts it on sale.

My No Frills will not price-match Metro they say it is too far away but I will admit I was going to try to price-match something at RCSS last time I went from Metro but decided not to as both in my area are on strike so I figured it would be a no go.

Today No Frills denied my Whole Chicken Price-Match. Normally, I cannot Price-Match as my store unless they are on sale there only ever seem to have the Free From, I thought it was my lucky day today they had non-descript whole chickens. No such luck, Zehrs ad says Air Chilled and the sticker on this one did not say Air Chilled so I was denied. She asked if I still wanted it, "No Thank you," it was $23

I have noticed lately that more and more stores seem to have different flyers as I have noticed Canadians I follow on Instagram that I know are in Ontario keep talking about deals that are not in my local flyers. The $0.94 Blackberries at Wal-Mart are not in my area's flyer.

T'was very stormy x 4or so rounds of pounding rain with winds last night starting just before 9:30pm. Lost power twice and internet was on the blink. But wifi was working this morning and l am surfing to the extent I can type before phone browser hangs due to memoryglitches.

Added a few more gift card deals; still the Loblaws flyers to check.

Wish I could visit the Winona Peach fest this weekend. Have fun and watch out for tree roots if you attend.😎
Mail was a glossy Hbc postcard flyer for hbcrewards members.
I'm pursuing contests and expect to post some tomorrow when at the library.

I'll miss Kleenex pocket packs as they've been hard to find in stock for over a year.🥲

    Good Afternoon Everyone,
I feel like I am living in the wild kingdom. *Knock-on-wood* The wasps seem to be done but they still have not filled the holes. The reason they gave us we had to let the wasps go in and out through the powder first to make sure they were gone. Okay, I get it but now let's fill those holes before mice find their way in, been there done that.

But now, I seem to have an ant issue. I noticed a few days ago when I was coming in on the walkway in front of the house there were a ton of ants and now they seem to be making their way in. Time to dig out any solution but not sure if I have any cotton balls.

I always tell our staff I do not know what it is, I know about 75% to 80% of our codes off the top of my head (at last check we had approximately 70,000) but don't ask me to pick up milk on the way home. Yep proved that yesterday. I was working an event in one of our locations and when I went to leave it was starting to rain. So I looked at my list and went you know what I am working out of town one day next week, we can make it through the weekend and I will shop my way home next week. Went to make a cup of tea and went "Oh, crap that is why I was going to grocery shop after work, we needed milk."

We have milk in the freezer but I am hoping to have some ambition this weekend *insert laughter here* and plan to get some cooking/baking done. Plus I needed a new Netflix card, I am on the basic plan which they have now discontinued in Canada. Since I am an existing customer I am grandfathered in but I cannot make any changes, miss a payment (which was my trick, I would let it lapse until there were new shows we wanted to watch and then add payment again) or pause my account. If I do instead of paying $9.99 it would jump to $16 per month. No, thank you.

Also, saw that Disney+ is going up but it looks like in Canada they are adding more options where they are adding an option with ads at a cheaper price, or what they are calling basic at their current price which only allows 2 concurrent streams or premium which allows 4 stream. I think there is also a difference in definition or quality (not sure of the correct term). Our trial ends in a month or so, it is in my calendar.

    Happy Friday Everyone

Evening had the girls today after ashlyn was finished her school program at 11.30-we had lunch chicken noodle soup, then out the door to "adventure village".This is where life is not frugal $61 dollars later the girls loved it they went on bumper cars ,ashlyn did a trampoline jump twice (little cara was too scared).

We had their fries (bought my own drinks in the car ,so i went to get them )carried them in in my bag. Then the girls wanted an ice cream pretty big for a kiddie cone for 2.50 each .All in all a nice wrap up to the summer with nana and papa.

ouch eh? @SassyAshley wrt to both Netflix and Disney. We are kind of newbies to both. Signed up in April 2023 ( I think? lol ) and after having both FREE for 3 years through the generousity of my sister ( shared password ) it has been a shock to say the least to learn of the increases coming in October.
We also took on Apple+ but I've enjoyed so many movies and series on that service that I cannot gripe about it.
For Netflix I had to enroll using a GC I bought at WM because we have no cell phone number and they seemed to require one on registering. A CS agent told me I could sign up this way
and just keep buying a new GC as needed to keep the account valid.
@coupon girl God love ya! Your granddaughters must have had such a blast at that Adventure Village! Nice way to close out the summer.
I woke up to discover the Jays lost. I watched till the 6th inning but remember nothing after that....lol

I have a very long weekend. I took today and Monday off. Finally made it to the lake to paddle. Then I spent some time looking for more to thin out and take to Nova Scotia. My buy nothing group has provided a crockpot and frying pans this week. Then on Facebook I picked up a new in box instapot for 30.00, 2 sets of lamps and some other bits and pieces. I have a friend that is a real estate agent and she messages me before posting on marketplace so that’s been awesome. I feel like I now have as much as we can take in the 1st trip out and my SUV is going to be packed.
The house closed yesterday with no issues. My brother and older son did the walk through and they said the house was immaculate so that will save me having someone into clean. They also left a very new window air conditioner and a dehumidifier which was very kind of them. I can’t wait to head out in October.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

@walkonby , We do the gift cards for Netflix hoping to find a good stock-up deal soon. Last year I think I had to spend $100 and got back $10 in PC points at No Frills but no new deals. But I bought my new card there so hoping to see something before I need to buy another card. Oh, how I missed the SDM Christmas Gift card Promo.

Sad to see you cannot do the same with Dinsey+, you can buy a gift card online but it can only be used on new accounts. They cannot be applied to an existing account which I think is kind of stupid. At least in my family, I know people who year after year would just buy gift cards for people.

    Good Morning All,
I woke up at 4:30 this morning and decided to read a chapter of my book before I got up. I got a bunch of autobiographies and memoirs for Kindle on sale from Amazon for $1.99 or less about a month ago. Right now I am reading Jessica Simpsons, I will be honest, I bought her CDs and watched Newlyweds (that was generation) but I wasn't sure about her book but I am really enjoying it. Fell back asleep woke up at 7:30, fell back asleep till 9 am. WOW guess I really needed the sleep.

Woke up to a message from step-mom, Opa (my grandpa on Dad's side) fell last night and is in the hospital. The last message was at 8 am and they had not seen him yet but guessing they are there now.

Really need to find some ambition, my kitchen is a disaster the dishwasher did not get emptied yesterday so there are dishes everywhere. I wanted to make Waffles for Breakfast but we need more flour but it is barricaded in the basement as I still haven't cleans up from the wasps. Plus as much as I do not want to, I need to get some work done, yesterday was so busy I am not ready with what I need for Monday.

    Happy Saturday Everyone.

Very sorry to hear about your Grandfather, @SassyAshley. He might be fussed over for the time of his hospital stay but I recommend you see him in the next couple of days just in case he does not make it past a week. Just wanted to alert you to have a visit. (((hugs)))

Appreciate the discussion on the Disney+ gift cards. I've seen contests for them and wondered if they were only good for the US online shop or if they could be used for the streaming service in Canada. I had chased one high value Disney+ card prize but did not win it in the spring.

I have not seen recent Disney+ nor Netflix gc deals, only lots of Playstation offers and one Apple gc offer at Sobeys (all posted). Thing is that the gaming/streaming card offers dry up around Nov/Dec (usually prepaid Visa/MC offers or mall card offers) so this back to school sales time seems to be keeping all kinds of cards top of mind for buyers.
