Harvested a friend's pear tree and came away with 70 pounds, after leaving the owner 15 pounds. Such a shame to leave another 40+ pounds on the tree, but there was no way to get them. The ladders we had were just insufficient.

Good Morning and TFIF!! Dark light rain start to the day. This is ok with me.
I am working in the office today and really have a million things to get done inside the house this weekend.
Had no plan for dinner last night. Was starving while out grabbing a few items on my list. Was going to buy a heat and eat meal at Foodland (Lemon chicken with noodles) but they didn't have any. Walking through the aisles I saw perogies and decided that was a good idea. (tons at home in freezer)
So made perogies with ceasar salad for dinner and it hit the spot!
Last week I picked up 4 of each- Laundry detergent, bleach and vinigar. It is all sitting in the hallway entrance waiting to be brought to the laundry room.
My mission this weekend is to move stuff up from the laundry room to the garage- then post for sale.
I'm going to set a goal of $200 in sales by mid-month. I need some motivation!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning Everyone,
Another day of exhaustion LOL, I woke up so tired this morning and I think I slept funny, my neck and shoulder are really bugging me. I was hoping once I got up and moving things would feel better but nope. Might need a Robax as I have a lot to get done today and do not have time for this LOL.
Last night right around dinner time they were calling for storms and our lights started to flick so I was a little worried we might lose power. So we held off making dinner just to be safe, we did not lose power but had nothing out for dinner. So I ended up pulling out Homemade Burgers.
The to-do list for the weekend is long, I feel like everywhere I look there is something new to add to the to-do. I really just need to deep clean my house from top to bottom. Or in my case Bottom to Top as I want to get my basement cleaned up so if things are needed I can move things down there.
The hard part is being very honest about what we keep and what goes. I love that Mom is creative but it can be tricky as can always see a project or purpose for things. I really need to find an organizational system for our basement.

@HermanH I too stocked up as each year they change the styles, and its hard to find 100 percent cotton these days. I'm not a fan of polyester or nylon, especially on hot day.

@walkonby I wonder that too. I stopped outside to the garden centre at Home Depot and it was so hot. I feel bad for people that work outside on these humidex of 41 days.

Was off this forum for a few weeks. Glad the humidity is mostly gone. I almost passed out at the MTO waiting, fortunately I was able to sit down and get some water from the staff, and my licensing thing got fixed.
I hope everyone had a good summer.
The bills keep plying up, first dental and now I need a new window, its a big expenditure as its my main window in the living room. It ices up every year at the bottom and is foggy most days. I will be happy to have a new window and no more drafts.
Have a great weekend everyone.

You gotta be careful with the humidity @barbis9 . Glad they were able to take care of you. Heat exhaustion or heat stroke is very real and can be deadly.

Seems that baby and kids' clothing can still have 100% cotton but adult clothing is rare with that high fibre content. Blends-though 60 cotton/40 poly works for work shirts and helps with drying/shaking out wrinkles.
I wish to trek to Value Village in upper Burlington to see if offerings there are better or on par with Talize. My local VV is not really worth 5min in the clothing dept now. Vintage clothing spotting from the 80s or 90s scream with alteration potential (so much fabric).
Just pleased that the heat has hiked down somewhat though it was freezing with open windows this morning.
Tomorrow there's a planned early am power outage-hope work goes well and power comes back within - or + 30min of promised restoration time.
I've had to scoot twice after 8pm to use wifi (and carry a long sleeve shirt to fend off bug bites) this week and once in early am (as long as bench was shaded I was fine) but once the sun rose above treetops, the wasps or whatever in the shrubs by the bench become my problem (so I left).

I won $9 on my $3 scratch ticket from Wed so that's a shopping incentive today. Sky is overcast and suggesting rain any minute now. I want to get a few errands done so some food and needed items are stocked.
Fair season is in full swing here in Ontario!
Shoppers shoppers-look for 2L pop bottles with $1, $2 or $3 off coupons (product best before dates are Oct 2/23). Dr Pepper Zero Sugar has been scanning at $1.23 not $2.79/$2.99 at my store and with coupon, I am paying 23 cents or less. (I had a $3 coupon on two bottles and got each for 3 cents). Top brag of my shopping life!"This is the Way." The Mandalorian

@Ciel21 have you ever checked out the Habitant Restore on Appleby line in Burlington, I have been scouring it for housewares and was surprised to see they have a huge clothing section. Given that the housewares prices are significantly cheaper than VV I would hope clothing it the same.

@lilo0003 No, I have not been to the Burlington Restore. I will look it up online and think about going out there next week. Thanks for the lead!
I have been keeping tabs on Snuggle Bugz's baby gear event and it looks like only shoppers who drop $500 or more on the Sat/Sun event get swag bags so I'll steer clear of the store this week. Have enjoyed the baby gear Youtube videos! Want to see the price on one convertible car seat that was shown in the car seat video).
It seems that West Coast Kids opened this week as store hours are posted on the chain's website.

@Ciel21 thanks again for keeping thee gift card thread so current. DS2 needs work clothes and safety boots so we are going to Marks and with the Canadian Tire almost next door I will have him figure out what he needs and then go buy the gift cards. $15.00 in points for every $100.00 gift card is nothing to sneeze at and we are saving points to buy a microwave for the new house.

Good Morning! Looks like a beautiful sunny day!
Usually I like to get up and go on Saturday mornings but made coffee at home and am enjoying a quiet house
Wrote out a list of the things I want to accomplish today. Cleaning out the SUV is one of them (I found $100 Cash stuffed in my console so far!!)
We have a pile of tires in front of the garage that need to be dealt with. I am ready to post them for free but we need to check with oldest to make sure they don't work for his current vehicle. (I don't think they do since they were from cars of his before and he has an SUV now) I just want them gone!
Well I guess I better get rolling. Will make breakfast and then wash up the few dirty dishes. Shower and put on my runners so I can get my steps in while running around today. Love that the fridge is clean and spacious (pretty empty lol) so if I find any deals I can put right in the fridge and use up for meals the next few days since I have no meal plan. (not in the mood for food lately!!! Nothing is appealing. We thought about Chinese last night and but didn't feel like eating that at all)
Hope everyone has a great day!
