In Canada, there are some immediate changes to how Body Shop stores will operate:

As part of that restructuring, the company will cease accepting and selling new and existing gift cards, will no longer provide refunds and will consider all new and previous purchases final, said Body Shop North America president Jordan Searle in a memo sent to Canadian staff on Friday and obtained by The Canadian Press.

E-commerce has closed.

The US operations of the chain have also closed.

There are proceedings in the UK as well.

So much for gift cards never expiring-they always do in bankruptcy filings.

Well, the chain did start selling Body Shop products but I think we can assume there will be some changes to their availability?

I am not familiar with the UK parent company's way of doing business-taking revenues from the Cdn subsidiary into a pool controlled by HQ in UK out of which operational expenses were paid (allegedly). Then recently, UK parent company took the cash and went into administration proceedings aka bankruptcy filing in the UK. No wonder the Body Shop customers with useless gift cards are outraged on social media-their "deposits" are gone and there's no online shopping either. They all thought there would be a period to use up the gift cards.

Also affected are Body Shops in other European countries.
