Had a meeting yesterday with a new potential client that took much longer than expected. Decided to take her on starting in November as that’s the earliest I can fit her in.

Heading off to work this morning with Dh to get the final push done. Been up since 4:15 but not out of bed until 4:30. It’s gonna be a long day as I’m already tired and it’s only 6am

Still need to get some soy milk so the plan is to get that after work. Time for breakfast and then out the door.

    Have a great day everyone

We spent yesterday with friends at a national park. It was an awesome day, beautiful drive and nice company. Today is sunny and warm so after cleaning the house I spent a few hours in the garden getting ready for fall. The crazy zucchini plant is still producing so I dropped off the current bounty to the neighbours.
We are going to a friends tonight for a bonfire and I don’t work tomorrow so that’s a nice bonus.

Decided today was the day to return empties. Talize had 50% off blue and yellow tags today but nothing clothing-wise had the tags. Found a craft/stationery bag that contained Staples package of photo paper and other stationery supplies so it was worth $4.49 to me. I just about ran out of photo paper on Saturday.
Shoppers pop selection at Rymal and Upper James was not wide ranging but I got one 6pk to get the $2.99 deal and put some funds on my Presto card. Tomorrow is the last day to get the $2 Huggies wipe deal at Shoppers and at some Loblaws banners.

Finally, I was able to log into the Canadian Tire site and see my offers. Feels like a long two weeks without access to my account and offers. The Triangle site still just cycles the loading icon.

@wendymac I had heard that port workers from Maine to Texas were about walk out on strike. The Montreal port strike will likely be noticed the week before Thanksgiving during twobig sales events. Guess we are going to need to think which foods we may find at local independent stores or just simplify food choices at the big grocery chain stores.
    Thanks for the Montreal update.

My sunflower plant grew really tall, but the did not bloom. Today, a shorter stalk just began to bloom. Wow, that's late. No way the seeds will mature before the snow flies.

My local bumblebees will have to rely on fall flowers other than the tall stalked variety that usually stays in flower into October. Saturday rain was causing the stalks to slip off a temporary perch and I had no desire to strap the stalks. Secateurs came out to cut the blooms and stalks.
At least the stems will not be in way of grasscutting.

Pantry is getting empty. Pasta will be part of supper and likely involve grating some cheese Mom got two weeks ago as well.Broiled a package of bacon for everyone's breakfast and cooked a chicken noodle soup from a package.

Huggies wipes poptop 64ct $2 hit of the month deal ends today at Shoppers, Fortinos and other banner stores under Loblaws.
Staples has a K- cup bogo event on their website right now.

Just wish to get through the day...it feels like a very long one right now.
    Calendar pages flip tomorrow.

@Ciel Yes, indeed, it looks like the U.S. strike is on, "Longshoremen’s union says port strike on East Coast to start Tuesday" https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/p...start-tuesday/, which will have a huge impact on Canada. Some Dollar Stores, for example, say that about 1/2 their products come through the Eastern US ports, and many food stuffs do as well. Whatever happens with the U.S. strike will undoubtedly influence the timing, nature, etc. of any Canadian port strikes or labor actions. I think Ciel is correct when she writes, "The Montreal port strike will likely be noticed the week before Thanksgiving during two big sales events." Yep. That sounds right.

BTW, even tho' it is only September, even a brief strike is likely to complicate Christmas shopping and reduce choice. Shop extra special early this year? And get your Hallowe'en candy now.

@barbis9 Here is the link to the Bay's recycling program
    https://www.thebay.com/content/beaut...term=Recycling

I had to log into my HBC account to find the link as the help centre searches were not useful.
You have to be a Hudson Bay Rewards member to score the $5 in points for every 5 eligible containers.
Today is senior's day at the Bay stores.
