By chance on Friday while seeking Chch news segments, I found a Morning Live segment on gifts for grandparents to be that aired 9 months ago that I had not seen.

I have seen baby registries within past 13 months that include a diaper backpack for grandparents or two strollers (full system for the parents plus a travel stroller), two car seats and two playards.
If the grandparents are going to be involved with baby's care, it could be helpful to have them join the expectant parents on gear store visits to handle items and figure out which ones are manageable in terms of weight or fit for their vehicles or residence. Everyone has different functional ranges so a jogging stroller won't suit grandparents in a small condo unit. This advice applies to guardians who may have to get gear in short timeframe if minors are suddenly put into their care before finances/tax credit transfers are available.
Most strollers have plastic canvas feel no matter the brand. Car seats are final sale so try the dry fit of store models in cars to check fit and that seats don't obscure rear windows etc. Some stores may have an exclusive colour of popular car seats or strollers so keep the stores with such options on your visit list.
Check the store's Facebook and Instagram channels for registry events, car seat safety specialist talks, and promotions. Also register car seats and strollers etc with manufacturers in cas of warranty issues, parts replacement or recalls.
Transport Canada regulates car seats and life vests, while Health Canada deals with consumer product recalls.

Be aware that gear products sold in the USA may have different standards that may not be compatible with Canadian product standards. Do your research.
Don't forget to check your provincial or territorial highway act on regulations regarding car seat and booster seat height and weight or age requirements.
Finally, there are some baby products that should never be bought secondhand- this includes recalled products. This thread is currently associated with: Microsoft"This is the Way." The Mandalorian

Jrtoycanada.ca has discounted its Itzy Ritzy diaper bags by 15%. Only one colour option per bag size. There are other baby items in-store or online suitable for a second set of items to gift to the other adults in baby's life.
SnuggleBugz is continuing its Wednesday and Saturday clearance sales (4hours/day, electronic payment only; no customer washroom access) at its Oakville ON warehouse location. Good for open box and clearance baby apparel, small items and gear including strollers. Would be a good place to try for a travel stroller for grandparents or other family that is likely to have baby in their care regularly. Items are final sale.
US Itzy Ritzy has a new Belong utility style backpack on its website. Not sure that Canadian retailers have it stocked.
I have noticed retailers seemed to have shifted some products lines to deal with the tariffs applicable to US items coming into Canada. Secondhand marketplaces could be where you to find discontinued stroller adapters for car seats or brands no longer carried in stores. I have spent time trying to locate an adapter for someone.

Baby gift registries might be a good place to add items for grandparents and caregivers. I have discovered online some parents-to-be add registry items that they have purchased and mark as purchased (whether new or secondhand) on the registry in order to let friends and family know that those items are covered.

Ergobaby Fame stroller has a light colour option and offers a lighting system! I have not had a chance to handle one. I heard about battery life issues and the overall stability seems a bit questionable. Woohoo, do I ever wish to try this stroller at dusk to try out the lights (app allows colour changes)!
I continue to follow Itzy Ritzy website for diaper bag products. The modern Eras bags seem to be clearing out.
