Is this a good time to invest?

with the recent collapse of the markets..is this a good time to invest in any stocks?

the glib answer is: it's ALWAYS a good time to invest. But you have to know what you are doing!

Here's an example: i'm playing in the National Post stock challenge. It started on Monday. Everyone had roughly $100,000 to start. Early in the week I was at $98,000 and Friday i HAD $109,000.
Conversely, someone else finished the week with over $350,000!! THEY know how to invest in a volatile time and I am certain they used a lot of 'fancy trading techniques'. (i.e. short selling)


The markets made a nice recovery Friday, but may see another downward correction on Monday.

In general, I would be looking to invest some available cash now, but not without the guidance of a professional.
