@Shwa Girl I will take the money and RUN, but will not give that POS Ford my vote!!
The Premier is very interesting. During COVID, he clapped for health care workers. As COVID was less of a thing, he said they can only get 1% raise, max. But for his Parliamentary Assistants, he wanted to give a whopping raise.
The money? Maybe he should fix some stuff around ON rather than giving $200 to everyone, like Oprah.

^^^ some of the MANY reasons I will never choose him as a leader. He talks out of both sides of his mouth and loves a good photo op. lol
I think that this amount is too small to make any significant difference for most people. I'll be using the $200 to pay bills as I suspect that most will be doing.
I like to put any "free not expected money" in my travel account. That way I can get some joy from it.
If I am still alive and cognitive in January that money will be either donated to a local food program/food bank or used to help someone's mutual aid asks on X. The demand is great for both. I do not know if sending money to Ontario Opportunity fund is possible online as I do not have cheques with my account. Provincial debt...
If the postal strike is not resolved before the New Year, some eligible recipients will not receive these payments assuming the CRA has determined who gets them.
Canada Post strike paused by federal intervention and CUPW returned to work mostly on Dec.17.
CUPW has filed court challenge for mid-January. Federal and provincial governments seem to be edging towards possible spring elections. If either entity calls an election during winter, then the rebates might not get out.
Anticipating the rebates will go out in early January...so Ontarians can get the money into their area economies.
If anyone in Ontario has not filed their 2023 income tax return by end of December 2024, you might not satisfy eligibility requirements to receive the rebate.
Happy I did a search for possible release of that $200 amount. End of January or early Febuary (in time for Family Day and before end of tax holiday??).
