Light snow began falling around 1pm. Good thing I thought to check garage downspouts-one has frozen section of ice jammed at one end. Typical that it is only me that ever checks for debris or blockages. If I had not taken trash outside, the ice would become a huge issue what wiith another cold snap on the way. Will see if any Joe Fresh mitts exist at Shoppers that could be stretched over gloves.
Finally got tablet printing done! Kept putting it off and this morning, I was here and there for 90 minutes cleaning (found four expired foods in fridge one), doing laundry and restocking or moving supplies.
Apologies for not getting gift card deals done. Have Rexall and Shoppers ones up. Have to finish other flyers then posting. Need groceries too. Walking will be fun.
Longos has B1G1 free and Tetley teas in the containers are part of the flyer! Have to see if there will be energy for second walk later.

@ShwaGirl Yesterday's big news is that Dougie Dollars are starting to get in the mail stream.
It seems deliberate that cheques are after the carbon rebate cheques but close to US government change. Looking forward to putting funds towards two groups feeding Hamiltonians.
Im not thrilled that US exchange rate is about$1.44×× Cdn. My shopping is going to hurt so will see if Tuesday rate is better. Monday is Martin Luther King day in the US.

@walkonby , thank you.
Actually it wasn't work stressing me out this time which I think was partially my issue because I am used to handling the work stress.
I know it is early but I have been tracking my work hours (I am back to using my bullet journal) so far no weekends and only 1 "long" day where I worked 11.5 hours and that was because my 1 hour meeting ran 3 hours.
I had a discussion with my boss on our first day back and we are working hard to prioritize my job and there has been mention of getting me help (we will see). But I am trying to keep my work weeks to 50 hours.
Good news, I found my tights, bad new, that was not happening, no way, no how so Black pants and a nice sweater it was.
I was worried I was going to look undressed but everyone else was in my family was in pants so I did not feel out of place. I do not know why I felt like pants were not appropriate for a funeral. I was spinning out feeling like everyone was going to judge my outfit.
Today I had to go down to Toronto for a Funeral and I have no issues driving to all of our locations or other places but something about going into Toronto still scares the *beep* out of me. Plus it was going to snow and I am trying to be a fair weather driver (I am still driving the loaner and it handles differently than my car). Luckily I called my cousin and he agreed to drive he has no issues driving in the city. His wife was supposed to come with us but her mom is under the weather so she had to stay home with their kids.
When we left to go to Toronto it was raining, coming back there was a little bit of snow but on one of the roads did have some ice on it. My cousin was driving for the conditions but these new cars and the things they do, his car goes into slippery mode. You still have to drive for the conditions but it slows the tires down.
When I got home I started my meal plan for this week so I can go into tomorrow with a plan.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

@walkonby , I saw this, this morning and now have to check my eggs.
But when I say this it got me questioning how long they knew it was an issue. I have noticed in the past few weeks and heard other customers comment that No Frills has not had any no name eggs. It makes me wonder if they were pulled from the shelves before the recall was issued and on something like eggs people may have already consumed them.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Yikes eggs after i consumed one this morning woke up at 5.45 a.m and was hungry.Mine are okay thou bought at shoppers burnbrae omega.
Yesterday i popped over to sobeys to get a few deals with the points attached and then also used cpns
The girls are coming tonight as daughter-in-law has a funeral visit to go to.
(4) nestle chocolate bars 1.00 when you buy 3 or more -50 pts minus 150 personal offer=.59 each
(4) uncle ben rice in pkgs flavoured 1.99-1.00 cpn-buy 4 get 150 pts=62 cents each
(2) nivea shower gel (got the last 2) 3.99-400 in points when you buy 2=1.99 each
(2) nivea deodorant 3.99-400 in points when you buy 2=1.99 each (you cant even buy deodorant for that price now or even shower gel for that matter)
(1) compliments salad 3.49-.75 points=2.74
Cashier told me they were flyin g off the shelf the nivea items.
Who said sobeys is expensive ,gotta look for the deals ,sales use cpns on top of points offers and points offers to get by in these expensive times.
Just chilling today saving my energy for the girls as they get here at 4.30 -6.30 when son will pick them up on his way home from work.I think i will make chicken breasts and mashed potatoes today with steamed corn and peas/carrots.Last edited by coupon girl; Sun, Jan 19th, 2025 at 11:12 AM.

Coincidentally, I very recently looked into home-pasteurizing eggs using an immersion circulator (sous-vide machine). The process, 90 minutes at 135F, kills 99.997% of bacteria, assuming the 135 temp setting on your machine is accurate. No eggs, not even commercially pasteurized ones, are sure to be 100% bacteria free.
I have not done this, but fwiw, the yolks apparently look the same and behave normally. The whites get a bit cloudy and take longer to whip into a satisfactory meringue with somewhat less volume.

Good Morning Everyone,
I did plan yesterday so I could start my day with a plan but here I sit at 10:30 having accomplished nothing.
I do not know what it is but I keep randomly waking up in the middle of night at all different times and cannot fall back asleep. For some reason once I wake up even though I realize it is the middle of the night almost immediately after thinking I still have time to sleep, let's go back to sleep, my brain goes "ok, let's talk, what do we need to do today, oh let's talk about this, let's compose emails, let's think about all the things, oh remember when you did this, oh what about this, oh we forgot to do this," and then I am wide awake. Last night it was 2:30 till 4 am and for some reason when I do fall asleep it is always a bad position and I wake up so sore and today with a headache.
But I need to get my butt moving because no one else is going to tackle all of the thing that need to be done.
Happy Sunday Everyone (for some reason my brain keeps thinking it is Saturday which I wish was true because than I could do nothing, but it isn't it is Sunday).2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

But for the past month I have been buying the Grayridge and burnbrae because those were on sale. I had an offer this week from SDM for eggs but I didn’t have time to go out and get any

ladies, lets talk eggs and sales and my hilarious timing!
On Friday I went for the Optimum offer I had to get 3,000 points wys $20.00 on eggs. We were almost out of them so perfect!
I calculated which combination of trays would bring me as close to $20.00 without going over and I succeeded at a total of $20.01 ha ha !!
Then when this darn recall was announced I was sure some of mine would be in that lot. Nope! Free and clear here. WHEW!!
When have we ever had 60 eggs in the fridge at once?
Oh and good morning btw!

@walkonby , love the spending $20.01 to get your points.
I did this but with tea and wasn't as close, I spent $20.26 to get my bonus points on spending $20.
Is it just me or is PCO becoming more spend X get Y and I feel like these are generic offers because it is all stuff I do not buy, or I buy but from Costco due to prices or it is way higher than I ever spend on groceries.
WAHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My eggs are good, I was so worried as I bought 30-packs before Christmas, one of which is open and we are using and I threw out the paper from but there are only 10 eggs left so I assumed these ones were okay. But I was worried my second pack would be recalled since I bought them a week or two later but nope, all of the recalls have a later expiry date.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I was just talking to a friend in Sk. She was saying her aunt just passed at 103-and as a toddler she lived under a covered wagon with her parents until they could save the money to buy land and build a small house. Can you imagine especially with the current temps. Anyway there were eventually 12 kids and 5 survive so they must have been a hardy bunch. I sometimes think my generation and younger really haven't lived! Amazing what our ancestors all lived through!

hey! @lizzie bargain and @coupon girl what are ya doing to me? WAH!!!!
Those life experiences are real! Our relatives had to live through so much, actual pain and
suffering. We've had much the same here on both my parents sides and often I feel " less than "
or as lizzie said as if we haven't really lived.
