The store app went offline around November 2024. The HBC Rewards loyalty program has been effectively inaccessible to most members since February, though I have read of $5 redemption in store rather than $10, and a couple of persons did redeem more points in-store.Someone trying to redeem points online after the news release on Friday was unable to do so.
HBC's Neo Mastercard is offering a cashback incentive to HBC shoppers.

Gift cards are still being accepted. Please use any HBC gift cards now. I see that their gift cards are being given out in the Tim Hortons RollUpToWin contest."This is the Way." The Mandalorian

The local Hamilton store tried to revive certain store zones in 2023 and 2024. January 2024, the escalator and elevator issues made it challenging (I use a cane for support as my health issue has impacted torso strength) to shop both levels as I had to walk to mall escalator outside the store to get down to first floor. I recall advising an approaching couple with a baby stroller how far the mall elevator was if they intended to shop downstairs.
In early 2024, the Hudson Bay third party vendors online were disappearing. One baby store vendor had pulled its display strollers from store sales floor by summer 2024. The baby gear area became clearance then was turned into an Anko Toy dept by fall 2024. Hosiery dept was almost completely removed in womenswear.
Online orders had been limited to the use of two gift cards per order before recent events. Anyone hoping to use multiple small denomination gift cards ought to plan to visit a store this week and find merchandise to buy (for own use, as gifts or to donate to organizations). Checkout areas may still have impulse candy, toys or small items for purchase.
Fitting room access may be unavailable.Last edited by Ciel21; Thu, Mar 13th, 2025 at 12:40 PM.

How is the chain able to not pay for hydro or amounts owed to government?
How did chain get financing to set up Saks Global last year?
$3M cash on hand.

I can't even recall the last time I shopped at The Bay here in Halifax. I find they are overpriced, and the store looks like it is stuck in a 1990s timewarp.

Am going to print off my wishlist and note which area locations have stock of my items if they are still available later. No budget for March purchase unless my lottery ticket for tonight yields $100+ prize. The Hotel Collection bedding has a duvet set that would be a dream buy.
Noticed that if items are in stock online, website suggests if items might in stores for local pickup>then I had to enter a postal code to see where stock might be. Did see one item grey-listed for no free shipping. No handkerchieves no the site as accessory items.
Hadn't realized there are kids' aprons in the HBC Stripes collection. I recall in November and December looking at toy and retail chain websites trying to locate options under $25 as gifts for kids who could be ready to make cookies. I had a little decorative half apron for play as a little kid, but I never a full apron to wear when Mom gave me a little dough or cookie batter to shape while she got her baking work done.
Jockey underwear-just wanted to share that Marks also stocks a limited colour selection in classic and Elance brief styles for women in-store and online. You may notice colours skew towards darker tones for outdoor wear. Regular and Plus sizes are available(and sometimes there are underwear pts multiplier offers in the Triangle rewards program).
The Bay is my main source for underwear. Might have to order camisole with shelf bra from Elita directly if Bay stock sells out in my area's stores.
For individuals considering donating apparel, bedding or small appliances bought with gift cards to their community groups, school board community resource closet or hospital mobile clothing closet, please check to see what each organization is seeking (social media accounts or websites)at this time, as needs may reflect seasonal items or only particular goods.Last edited by Ciel21; Sat, Mar 15th, 2025 at 11:39 AM.

No luck with the Rewards program, as it remains suspended.

Mom bought two Lindt chocolate rabbits for 30% off and two pillows at the Lime Ridge Store. I did not ask what the price was on each pillow.
Use any gift cards up right away in-store if you have more than 2 (online orders are still limited to two cards per order).
I am stunned that there are shoppers trying to get the HBC Stripes wool blankets-that was a fall purchase item. I recall that the last Olympic Stripes collection did not sell out even at clearance prices, so why the fuss over Stripes items now? The canvas shopper totes would be my suggested purchase if they can be found as most stores no longer provide bags without a charge."This is the Way." The Mandalorian

lol! The only items I ever bought from the Stripes collection were a pair of socks and a coffee mug. DH really wanted a sweatshirt or hoodie but at that time ( 3 years ago ) they had almost zero of those available and the few I saw were so overpriced....well. At least he liked the socks and mug. I use the mug every day with my Keurig machine.
No mugs on the site now.Last edited by walkonby; Fri, Mar 21st, 2025 at 03:03 PM.

I had purchased the Stripes baby socks for a gift three years ago. Had been eyeing the canvas shopping totes but they never seemed on 25% discount. Wanted a graffiti shirt from the last Olympics collection but the last sizes on sale were not my size.
Latest update: liquidation sales begin tomorrow. https://www.thespec.com/business/ham...97adb7db1.html

Gift cards-Last Day to use them in-store or online (online may still limit shoppers to 2 gcs per order).
Ideas for small gift card amounts in-store: hand towels, underwear (community outreach, hospital clothing closets, shelters), children's clothing, adult tops or bottoms, accessories.
Big gift card amounts: online clothing, in-store bedding sets, kitchen appliances for selves or as gifts for upcoming occasions, in-store furniture that is cash and carry, glassware and dishes, fragrance sets, Olsen Europe boutiques in Bay stores for womenswear as 3 spring clothing lines arrived last week).
There is no longer a gift registry link since sometime last month. If a registrant had a gift list, chances are likely you can still find it on the Myregistry.com site as that site was hosting the Bay's registries.Last edited by Ciel21; Sun, Apr 6th, 2025 at 12:22 PM.

@2shopmom Nothing specific but there might be some guessing that the points program might be an asset someone could purchase. Also, there is a BC businesswomen keen to buy some Hudson Bay stores to keep them in her malls. I had really hoped that the chain would give members a chance to use up the points but don't give up on the card yet. If the program is purchased, there might be a redemption or partial redemption offer.
Right now, information on assets and fixtures is being kept only for interested buyers as management can also participate in bid offers on artwork, assets and fixtures along with outside businesses."This is the Way." The Mandalorian
