My NF trip(s) were a bust. I went to 2 different stores trying to get the NN 8 pk. of hot and ham buns on for $2.00 each + 1,000 points.
Nothing on any of the shelves. They refused to give me a raincheck even though I was going to lose the 1,000 PC points if I buy them
after Wednesday this week.
I promised DH the BBQ items would be ready ( cooked ) and on the table when he gets up from his nap, so I ended up paying $3.00 for
an 8 pack of larger D'Italiano Brizzolio buns.

Last month's hit of the month Wonder buns were appreciated at $2.85 each. Kept buying them at Fortino's. Odd time I find them at 50% off on bread sale racks.
I registered for the annual $4 Chapman's ice cream coupon. Offer runs until June 30 or while supply lasts. I had been eyeing their Super Premium ice creams last month at Sobey's Extra but budget and bag were not up for a purchase. Hope that mailout do not take 4-6 weeks, as we may be in a postal disruption sometime after May 22. Peach Melba ice cream could be a joy to eat out of the ice cream cones?
There are a couple of more flyers to check for card offers. I will put up a yard waste bag store links thread. Do not buy the Costco made in China 20 pack bags in the horizontal tote reinforced with plastic webbing. The bags are sort of reddish, somewhat glazed but not as much as butcher paper. The bags tear so easily while bagging branches!!! I am going to find other bags for yard work.

Picked up another batch of 12x sub sandwiches past their 'sell-by date' from the Shell station and distributed them. Many happy tummies.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

The first Store I went to on Thursday had 0 buns on the shelf as well. The 2nd one had them but they were clearing quickly (hot dog buns had 50% off sticker!)
I also bought 1 box of the patties ($15 and receive 5000 PC pts) not the best deal but DS ate them all weekend and the homemade patties are safe in the freezer for a while longer

lol!! We also bought 2 boxes of those " awful " frozen burgers just for the 5,000 points attached to each box. I say awful burgers because like you @Frugalbigmama I really prefer making my own patties up. We sometimes get the Blue menu or the PC frozen ones if they have a good sale.
On Sunday ( I beat the rain! ) and BBQ'd up all 12 burgers. Gosh they are ridiculously thin, tough to keep them from breaking up and have pieces
fall through the cracks. Tasty enough though, so we'll let that slide.
The best news is this this morning I had to hit the bank to deposit a cheque so I tried another NF location and they had the buns! I bought 3 of each
( hots and hams ) and earned the 6.000 points. I had other purchases, redeemed $20.00 , so my OOP was only $12.19 .
Then over to FB across the street to earn 110 + 15 Moi points on Timothy's Keurig pods and bananas. Got to redeem awhopping $9.00 bringing
the OOP down to $30.23
Thought I better head home before I spent any more $$.Last edited by walkonby; Mon, May 5th, 2025 at 12:33 PM.

Hamilton's Krispy Kreme store will have its grand opening on Tuesday May 13! I am certain that locals and nearby workers and two secondary schools students are ready to visit!
Will wait for some insight on lineup times as I cannot do long lines. Have to figure out how to carry those donut boxes as they are unwieldy for one hand.
Getting laundry washed and preparing shopping list. Still slightly stuffy due to symptoms but I need some pantry items to get through the week. 18-20C for most of week!

I am 100% sure my father will lost his driver licence.
It is just a mather of time.
He received a paper saying he have papers to complete by his doctor because they received information he have serious healths problems with his leg.
He refuse to quit smoking and change and dont want the operation to his leg...
Welll...I am not surprised by that...The goal is to live day by day not to much thinking hahaha !!!!

Oh dear Cath-if he does lose his license that might be just the motivation he needs to attend to his health issues.

great point @lizzie bargain .
@cath007 The thought of him no longer having access to " wheels " might be what it takes for him to change.
We all still have you in our thoughts and prayers regarding your struggles with him.

Not sure about that point.....
He is at the point he care about nothing.....
And I was tired
Now.
I sended a message in the facebook thread on his side familly....stated all the issues...
Now they know...
They knowed before
bUT I gave my po int of view.....and stated they do nothing and the situation dont change
At this point...I dont care about doing that.
Honnestly..........The more I talks in private facebook with my godmother.
The more I realize she is 80% on the side of his brother.
So will see what the others sisters and brothers thinks...
At least I see they all read the message except 1 brother....Last edited by cath007; Mon, May 5th, 2025 at 05:32 PM.

@cath007 , **HUGS** Sadly the only one who can change or make a change is your Dad and he has to make that decision. As much as we want to help them and do everything we can to help them unless they want the help there is not much we can do.
