I wasn't really sure where to put this - and it has been quite a bit since I was on this forum.
However, I was wondering, how many here are still or were ever - let's say boycotting (for lack of a better word) the US and their products?
When this ridiculousness started back in March or April, I decided I was not going to participate in his (because I know the minions are not the problem) economy. And that meant that if I was going to buy groceries, now I was going to have to get serious and look at where the product is from. Not bad enough that my shopping trips were already longwinded because the ingredients had to be checked as well as salt, sugar and fat levels - now the magnifying glass and clarification of where the product came from is in question.
Yesterday, I hit Longos for their raspberries (they were the closest store for reasonably priced berries of any kind). So the package - in larger letters - states 'product of Mexico'. Good, I can live with that. BUT .. in tiny letters (granted it was on the front of the package) it says Watsonville CA. Yup - you guessed it - that CA does not stand for Canada. I asked one of the produce guys and he says 'packaged in the US'.
Well - they are still getting some of my money - but the fact that the farmer in Mexico is getting something for his efforts is sort of acceptable.
Well, just wondering about the rest of you.

We are still doing everything we can to purchase Canadian products only. My DH recently noticed when searching for Canadian apples that some of the apples did not have any stickers on them to denote the origin of them.. he mused "did the stickers get removed from American apples and then placed with Canadian apples so that they would sell?". It is very tricky out there.

While I admit I don't check everything for its origin, The only American-made or grown product I have knowingly "bought" in months was one I got with an FPC that I acquired before the tariff ridiculousness began.
