Our local second hand stores had some good sales.

50% off everything at other second hand store. $8 total for fleece onsie for twin girl, two water bottles, a butter knife that matches the ones we have at home.
A friend gave us a large heaping Walmart bag of clothes for twin boy. He fits some items, but more he will need to grow into.

Good Morning Everyone,
I was hoping to ease into the weekend but does not look like that will happen.
I still need to head outside and do the shoveling.
I was going to go grocery shopping on my lunch but we will see, I do not feel like it, but I also know I should just get it done. Dang this whole adulting thing.
I was hoping to ease into the weekend so I would go into the weekend with ambition because I really should tackle our freezers so that is the plan but it also overwhelms so much.
Last night we ended up having Naan Pizzas, my afternoon meeting was over 2.5 hours long and I walked away with a ton of to-do so I needed simple.
I have no idea what I am going to make tonight. Maybe Enchiladas, they seem easy but we will see.
Happy Friday Everyone.

Happy Friday!
Looks like snow all day long for the next 2 days and then clear on Sunday. Guess Sunday is the day I go for a drive!
Purpose is for cheap gas...but I may have to put in some before then since my idiot light will be shining soon!
Slacking on the dinner making- last night was a fend for yourself. I had 2 bites of the leftover lasagna from the other night with 3 crackers with cheese. Then I made a package of oatmeal and added walnuts to it. It did the trick.
Today is laundry day. Have a load in the washer now and finally folded the load of towels in the dryer.
Going to figure out a plan for dinner... Think I will whip up a pasta bake for the boys for the weekend... something easy to heat up as needed.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Cant beat cheap prices better than thrift, used 2 discount codes on the gapclothing and used up 3.00 cash in points .

Another forced frugal day here for me ( no going out...ugh! ) . It's all in the name of road safety and " do I really NEED to shop? ".
Plus DH filled the gas tank yesterday for us.
Today my elderly cat Claudius who turns 18 on Jan 30th presented me with a dilemma.
I noticed blood on the pad that covers his favourite chair! After a quick inspection I found dried blood on the underside of 1
of his paws. Tried running his paw under warm water to loosen it away and see what the issue was.
Shocker! Appeared to me like 2 of his claws had curled and grew INTO his paw pad! I dared not pull them out as Claudius began
squirming about and cried out as soon as I touched him there.
So I phoned the vet asap. Apparently this can happen if the nail trimming has gone unchecked for some time. Well that is news to me
because the clinic always trims his nails ( free ) for us and since he has been at the clinic so often with various ailments, I don't know
how this occurred??
No way for me to get there today, Saturday they are booked solid, Sunday they are closed so Monday I hope to get him in bright and early!
In the meantime if this presents any worse I' get DH to drive us to the Emerg, Clinic. Cannot let my kitty suffer, he's already going through
so much.

Oh no
@walkonby
and Claudius :(. Poor baby ( yes at 18 they’re still babies ). That scared me as I was reading it. The thought of blood freaked me out. I’m glad he’s going to get it taken care of. I think the vet also ordered lots of snuggles and smooches

@harbie
!! I KNEW your heart would understand this. :flowers:
Claudius simply does NOT need anything else to happen to his weak little 7 pound body.
He used to weigh close to 15 pounds, him and Hamlet would chase each other around and
play wrestle most of each day, they'd make plans together to get at Frankie ( our caged
chipping sparrow ) . Oh those were the days. Now he just eats, drinks, sleeps most of his
days away and also meanders in the night making these heartbreaking loud calls, we describe
it as caterwauling?
We're grateful he still walks down to the basement to use the litter box.
thanks! :flowers:

Okay, as much as I did not want to, I went out to clear the stairs and that was the plan. I got the top landing done and half the stairs and neighbour stopped me to ask "what is that thing?" My electric shovel.
Then I decided to suck it up and go clean off the cars, got Mom's done and went to do mine got about 1/2 done on my driver's side and the shovel died. So it is charging now.
I have a meeting in 15 minutes and hopefully after it is done I can head out and finish the shovelling.
May or may not run to the store, part of me wants to go and just get it done but the other part of me doesn't want to change out of sweats and be presentable.
Also trying to figure out my schedule for next week, another area has asked for my help so we will see if they book a meeting.
Still lots to get done for work so better see what I can knock out before this meeting.

I went to purchase something at my IGA and the cashier asked me if I wanted a free Cottage Cheese tub.
I say yes sure!!! :)
I figure it out it will be a great way to see if I like it without paying.
Expiry date is January 18.
That was the reason.

Well it’s been a day. Finally the rain stopped, the clouds parted and we have sunshine. I’ve been really needing it for both my body and mind.
I went for a run which felt good but also a bit difficult but I’m glad I got it done. I’ve done a ton of spring cleaning and when I sat down to pay the MC bill I had a blonde moment and accidentally paid the wrong MC :yikes:. So now after paying the correct one we have a nice credit on the other one (which we don’t use except maybe once a year). Guess which one I’m bringing to Costco with me?
Now just ned to figure out tonight’s dinner….. maybe I shouldn’t use the stove by myself today

Good Evening Everyone,
My meeting was super quick so my shovel was not charged and well the rest of the snow did not get shoveled, there is always tomorrow.
After my meeting I was going from phone call to phone call and the emails were still flowing. Once my phone stopped I decided I needed to walk away for a minute and decided to take a late lunch and go grab some groceries.
At No Frills I got:
2 x Mushrooms
1 x No Name Mini Cucumbers
2 x Strawberries
2 x Broccoli
2 x Peameal
2 x Lunch Meat (1 Turkey, 1 Ham)
Everything was on sale except for the Cucumbers and I got points for Mushrooms, Cucumbers and Lunch Meat.
Then since the roads were okay I decided to venture to Sobeys to grab:
2 x Apples (I am loving Ambrosia Apples)
4 x Lemons
4 x Limes
1 x Apple Fritters
Everything expect the Apple Fritters were on sale and had Scene Points.
Happy to stock up on fresh stuff, I want to use the Broccoli to make a Broccoli Cheddar Soup. Mom is still drinking quite a bit of Lemon and Honey so happy to have more lemons.
Dinner tonight was Chicken Alfredo Bake with Mushrooms with a side of Garlic Bread and some Cucumbers. I had an open Alfredo Sauce to use up, some Homemade Bread to use and the last of the older cucumbers to use up. Kind of a clean out the fridge dinner.
Now I need to write a meal plan and prep list for the week. It looks like I might have a couple of in office days and one is close to some stores I don't get to shop at often so that day I might shop my way home. I always write a list for these stores but only go if I end up in the area. So I need to have some food ready to take with me and some quick dinner options incase I don't get home until late.
It is snowing again but there is supposed to be warmer and no snow tomorrow so will head out and get it all shovelled.

Good news-my fanny pack was found intact at the airport with nothing missing so hubs picked it up. What a relief. Yesterday I went whale watching and we found pilot whales and dolphins-we all declined the chance to snorkel in the chilly Atlantic in Jan-or visit the nude beach!!

@walkonby
your poor fur baby Claudius glad you have an appointment book already for the vet.
