There are many locations within Ontario and the U.S.
I watched Oprah a few months ago and it was a "Marble Slab" episode where she brought them to her show and she tested their creations out.
Marble Slab makes their ice cream fresh everyday and here is how it works........1st, choose you ice cream flavour:
http://www.marbleslab.com/products/flavors.html
Next, choose your mixin:
http://www.marbleslab.com/products/mixins.html
Or simply choose a creation:

They also have specialty products:

Here is my review:
After watching Oprah taste test Marble Slab's ice cream, and she looked like she was enjoying it , i decided to take my son there to have a taste test of our own.
Here is a You tube video to give you an idea of what it's like being inside Marble Slab Creamery:

Ok, so we get there and were quite excited to taste what the famous Oprah tasted
The shop was alot smaller than we pictured! There were quite a few flavours of ice cream and mixin's to choose from.
I chose the Cheesecake ice cream, graham cracker crumbs and strawberries in a waffle bowl and my son chose "Cookies and cake" in a waffle cone which is a creation in above link.
We were very excited to dig in!
So, i taste tested my son's creation 1st and found it tasty and creamy and btw, the waffle cones are handmade there and was pretty good. I gave his 4 out of 5 stars
Then it was time to try mine!
1st taste was just ok and i thought maybe the 2nd spoonful would be better.............it was JUST ok again!
When i finally got down to my waffle bowl, it was stale and chewy!!!!
My son's cone was crispy.
I gave mine 2 out of 5 stars!
And guess how much it came to?
Drum roll pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
$15.80!!!!!!
Don't think we'll be going there again!
They do give out cards that they stamp in order to receive a free cone once all the boxes are stamped but i'm afraid it would cost a fortune just to get that free cone
The entire overall experience = 1/5 stars

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have that great of an experience with Marble Slab! I happen to be a student at Western university in London, Ontario and there are 3 different Marble Slab locations here. Personally, I love the stuff and go there often to get it (at least once a month or so). I'm not sure about the Thornhill location but for people that happen to be in London, here's a tip to save a lot of money on this product!
In the university newspaper, the gazette, every few months there are always coupons for Marble Slab ice-cream. The ones to really stock pile up on are the buy one get one free. I know that they also have the coupons in the local newspapers and sometimes in the newspapers that come with fliers every week. When you go with someone else and buy one flavor with one topping, it comes out to $5.60. With the coupon, that means that you'll only be paying $2.80 each! Excellent price for the ice-cream, I would think. Like I said, I'm not sure about the other locations if they have coupons or not, but you could give it a try to ask

It is no doubt a treat. We get it on special occasions and brace ourselves for the price before we even step in the store!

I thought Oprah had the creators of Stone Cold Creamery on? Maybe I'm wrong. I have been to both and Stone Cold is by far the best. Yes, it is expensive but sooooo worth it in my opinion for a once-in a-while treat.
I found the quality of Marble Slab not as creamy and not as flavorfull. Now we only go to Stone Cold in Bellingham WA when we crave a treat.
If it were me that got a stale cone I would have brought it to their attention. It is not acceptable to pay big $$$ and get an old stale product.

We have them here in Edmonton and it's a once in a while treat. I find the ice cream too rich for my taste. But teenagers love it.
Never seen coupons 'though. But they do promos once in a rare while (2forones)

I also go to Western... and this past summer a Marble Slab opened up in Oshawa (where I live the rest of the time)... I have never had a bad experience there, though sometimes I find the ice cream to be a bit too sweet. (That could just be because I usually split one with my boyfriend, though, and he's not happy unless it's pure sugar... blech.)
My favourite is Chocolate Amaretto.
Definitely just a once in a while treat... sharing with someone is good, they give way too much ice cream to eat all by yourself (for me anyway!)

Not only is the fare inconsistent, mediocre and expensive the service is nothing to write home about.Apart from a good ice cream you look for a great experience as well and I don't think people at Marble Slab realize it.
We had gone to the Trinity Commons store at Brampton and came back thoroughly disappointed with the overall experience. The ice creams were plonked rudely in front of us with the chocolate sauce dripping from the sides, disgusting.
For us,back to our regular haunts .Anything except this place..Last edited by discerning; Sun, Nov 28th, 2010 at 12:52 AM.
