Seafood is going downhill in most Loblaw stores. In quite a few locations the department managers for Seafood are being let go because the business they generate is declining rapidly. For the most part frozen and refrigerated pre-packaged fish seems to be the route they are taking. Most HMR (Meals To Go) and Deli Manager's are left carrying the bags for their respective Seafood departments, usually whichever of the two is closest to being connected to it. All departments have taken a hit as far as labour especially with the recession, but departments that were barely generating profit such as Seafood are unfortunately being cut off completely. Only the driving departments such as Produce, Meat and Grocery are the ones that aren't really feeling too much of a labour cut.

Wow, she was power trippin'. the amount of returns I processed without receipts was ridiculous (I always had mine for obvious loss prevention reasons - you don't want to get fired for not having a receipt on you!). Honestly, it's only big ticket items I was ever weary about (things over 50$) and then baby formula (and other protein powders) since those have been used in scams. And exchanges were a breeze, still can't believe they wouldn't let you :|

Grr well today I was on a gluten free mission and since I am farely new to this and clueless I thought I will go to Loblaws (East Mall, Etobicoke) and check out there organic section since the last time I was there they had one. Well to my surprise they changed it and now all the gluten free, organic stuff is mixedd in with regular stuff. GAH! this made everything so much more difficult! I wish I could have just went to the one isle and seen what they had to offer me but I spent 2 hours running around looking through dozens of products to find the gluten free ones.

I've had it with the Kanata Centrum Loblaws. I was next in line at the check-out counter with my large cart of groceries lined up on the counter for the cashier, when she suddenly put a "This Register Closed" sign right in front of me and very rudely announced it was her break. I was furious and embarrassed and had to put everything back in my cart and go to another line, as if I had somehow done something wrong. When I complained about this behaviour I was directed to a woman at the “help” counter who virtually brushed me off.
I can forgive the weeks-past-expiry yogurt still on the shelves, or the fact that so many products are constantly sold-out or missing from the shelves, or forgive the butcher in the meat department who obviously hates people and his job, or the rotten tangerines hidden at the bottom of the box.
I know people are human. We all have our issues. But the rudeness I felt, and the lack of interest in my complaint are the last straw for me. There is a nice Sobeys that just opened about the same distance away that will be my new main supermarket for the majority of my grocery purchases. I don't plan to ever set foot in Loblaws again.

I placed a special order at Loblaws for a particular item, which I was going to pay for entirely with coupons. Had discussed the purchase prior to ordering and was told by two supervisors and the manager that it would be alright and they placed the order for me after looking at my coupons.
Two weeks later my order comes in and I go to pick it up.
1. They wanted to ring me in a Customer Service desk - no problem.
2. When they found out that was using 216.00 worth of coupons, it had to be cleared (again) no note was left. But everyone knew about the order because it was so much.
3. They wouldn't let me take my order because it had to be cleared with their specialist.
4. They put my order away and said they would make sure it wouldn't be sold to any other customers.
5. They said they would call me back.
So, another week goes by and I give them a call. They said they had spoken with the manager, the assistant manager and their specialist who gave the order the okay, again. And I could come and pick up my order.
I go into pick up my order a bit peeved no one had called me to let me know I could come and get it.
I get into pick up my order and find out that they had sold half of my special order!
No one apologized to me for this. I'd waited over three weeks now to pick it up and half of it was gone.
So, I ended up just taking what they had left for me in this ripped up cardboard box and I'm not quite sure where to go from there...
On a side note, went into a different Loblaws store yesterday, and used over 100.00 worth of coupons with no problem.
I wish their coupon limit was higher, so you don't need an override after 10.00.

If Loblaws is reading this, hi!
I go to the Loblaws at 310 Hightech Rd. in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
I love this store as it's clean and well organized. They're coupon boards are always stocked up and my overall experiences there have been great. But with that being said, no store is perfect and this location does have it's flaws.
There is a huge difference in the attitudes of employees when I go in on weekdays versus weekends. The staff, mainly customer service and front managers are a lot more rude and unaccommodating to their customers. They are less personable and impatient.
Employees working on weekends are completely different. They seem happier, friendlier and are GREAT with COUPONS-even when they have to do a bit of overriding! The customer service reps are so, so, so nice.
I now avoid going on weekdays an go on the weekends because of this.
I would like to suggest that Loblaws increase their coupon value acceptance per transaction. It is a bit of a pain to have to get a CSR to override after the limit of $10 worth of coupons- especially because more and more people are opening up to couponing.
Speaking of which, we need a coupon policy put in place...now. Whats up with being told that we can't use coupon zone coupons in conjunction with manufacturer's coupons..when a CSR okay'd the use of both in one transaction, for the same item, the other day? Inconsistencies- not so great for a company.
NO FRILLS, Yonge St. & Steeles Avenue in North York, Ontario.
Really upped their game recently. They were quite bad with coupons and price matching but are a lot better now. They still need more training when it comes to doing price matches, so maybe a refresher course is needed for staff. For the most part, it's clean and organized. Produce is decent and they have a wide range of ethnic foods as well as items for people who keep Kosher. Staff are nice and efficient.
I have never used a coupon zone coupon there before but if there isn't a solid coupon policy out right now, one needs to be in place. I assume that it would be the same or similar to the one Loblaws stores would have?
If Loblaws started to allow price matching like Walmart, you can be sure that I'll be going there more often!

301 High Tech Road
Richmond Hill Loblaws
Worst service ever! I was with my son and a lazy stock boy knocked over a box and my wheel on my cart got stuck. I couldn't lift my cart because my son was sitting in the child seat, so I kicked the box loose front the wheel. At that moment the manager TIM RAMADAN with a South African accent came storming up to me and began to chastise and threaten to kick me out of the store. I asked him why he wasn't saying anything to the stock person who had left the box in the middle of the aisle. He continued to threaten to kick me out, and when I began to get upset mentioning that he should have better manners to customers that inevitably pay for his salary, he made a quick comment that I shouldn't talk and act that way in front of my son! I was incensed! When my pregnant wife came back from using the washroom he kicked us out, but we were glad to leave such an asinine manager. Upon leaving I mentioned to him that as a manger it is his job to treat his customers with more respect. I am disgusted with such a person representing Loblaws, and we have decided to go to other grocery stores and give them our hard earned money, an average of $600.00 a month, but I guess TIM RAMADAN is alright with that, but is Loblaws?

Loblaws Bowmanville
My friend lives in Bowmanville. She told me about the reduced shelf at this store. You can get some great deals when they put pink stickers on them. Some are 'Blow Out" prices, which are good too. We got gift sets of Dove for women and Dove for men -- regular $15.00, sale $8.00, P & G coupns, $3.50. That was last year.
Tuesday and Wednesday evening the meat, bread and produce and salad bar get's pink stickered or 30 % off (meat).
Saturday after 9 PM, the deli items get pink stickered.
Normal prices are regular high Loblaws prices. But if you have time to scope out the aisles, there are some unadvertised specials.
I think because there is a Super Walmart across the street, they are being a bit more competitive.
Summer, garden centre, my friend got great deals when they are going to close in June/July -- like expensive soil and mulch for $0.94.
Good news - the cashier told me they are becoming a "Loblaws - Great Food" in June. That means better prices, I hope.

I despise Heather at that Loblaws!! Seriously, I used to be a shopper but why even bother when WalMart is up the street. She is so rude and the store is always a mess. Everytime I'm at the cash I have to wait, which wouldn't be a problem but there is NEVER anyone ahead of me. The cashiers are usually texting or talking to each other and I feel like im bothering them. One time I tried to use a coupon that was printed and the lady said I was a thief and theres no such thing as internet coupons. And their "one per purchase" policy is terrible. I probably won't ever go back.
I've earned $10 this week in amazon.ca giftcards.

Loblaws at centrum in Kanata: the worst service ever. You need to go to a sobeys to see real customer service.
They never have enough cashiers, everybody please check the dates on their products, it amazing how many things are already expired. And don't buy their meat, when you see their meat is changing color and is no longer bright red, don't buy it.
I don't go there often as their service is terrible, when I do go there, there is always boxes everywhere. I don't quite understand why they pack their shelves at 10:00 in the morning on a Friday. This is a busy day, can they not do it at night? When you try to go around the boxes and the guy unpacking the boxes gives you a dirty look, like you are intruding on his job, it's time to change stores.
The cashiers look like it's time to retire. They don't smile, they don't ask if you found everything ok, they really don't care.
if you don't help them pack the bags, they give you a dirty look. If I wanted to pack my own bags I would go to food basics...
Loblaws time to give some training to your old cahiers.......They need it.
