This is mostly a review on Charmin toilet paper but I am going to give the pros and cons of others we have tried as well. Yes, I really am reviewing toilet paper. Oh, what an adventurous life I lead! lol
Ever since I started using coupons I have tried many different toilet papers. Before I used them I used the no-name brand and it was so terrible but we couldn't afford the brand name ones without coupons so that's what we used.
When I was finally introduced to the beautiful, wonderful, fantastic world of coupons, I found a coupon for $1.00 off Royale. This was the first brand name I have used and I really liked it. It was so much better than the no-name stuff we'd been using prior to that. When the Royale went on sale for $7.99 for 40 rolls, I bought 4 packs for $6.99 each (with my coupons). I love Royale!
A few months later I found some coupons for Charmin (don't remember the value, sorry) and when it went on sale I grabbed a package to try. Let's just say - BEST. TP. EVER! It is soooo soft and you don't have to use much so it lasts a really long time. I went back to the store the same day and used the rest of my coupons. I now have enough toilet paper to last around 2 years!
Now onto the pros/cons...
No Name Pros:
- Cheap (unless you have coupons that make the brand names cheaper)
... yeah, that's about it.
No Name Negatives:
- Scratchy!
- Have to use alot at once
Royale Pros:
- Super soft
- Decent prices (better if you have coupons)
Royale Negatives:
- Paper is somewhat thin so you have to use a bit more
Charmin Negatives:
- Very expensive (unless you have good coupons + good sale price)
Charmin Positives:
- Very soft
- Big huge rolls so you change them half as often
- Thick so you don't have to use as muchThis thread is currently associated with: N/A

I love Charmin TP as well, but I think that it is too thick and my girls would destroy our septic system if we used this
Oh well, the cons of a septic field

yes, there is at least one brand of toliet paper, that seems to fluff up when it's wet, and can plug up your toliet. my aunt swears it's cashmere. but with all the name changing going on, cashmere used to be cottonelle..
i don't worry tho, my hubby steals the cheap stuff from work.

I first tried the No Name brand, after 1 pack I switched to Cashmere, then with coupons I found Royale. Royale is softer but I notice when it gets damp, it leaves tiny bits, imagine having a moustache when wiping a runny nose repeatedly (my kiddo does that). Have you seen the Charmin TV commercial where they show the mama bear noticing the little bear's butt with tissue residue? Made me think of Royale, hehe. I still have about 100 rolls to go then I'm gonna go Charmin, lol.

I'm not a fan of Charmin (too thick)
Right now we're stocked up on Royale double rolls... it's more than soft enough and the roll lasts awhile...
Haven't tried many other brands, and prob won't anytime soon just b/c I have a stack of Royale coupons in my purse, waiting for it to go on sale again...

I actually find charmin too thick.
I agree with the No Name and with Our Compliments being bad, rough.
I find royale and cashmere both are linty.
Right now I am using Life Brand, and I really like it. Its cheap, but nice, its like royale but not linty

My pro's and cons of TP (I am a TP specialist) because of allergies.
Royale:
Pro's
soft
Con's
Flakes stuck to your bottom and expensive
Gave me allergic reaction
Charmin
Pro's
Soft and strong, don't need much
Con's
Too thick and expensive
Kleenex
Pro's
Very soft, strong and you dont need much
Con's
Very expensive
No Name
Pro's
Cheap
Con's
Everything else
I have used every TP available and I LOVE Kleenex toilet paper. It's super expensive but the best quality.
Royal leaves little particles behind on my skin... which I hate. I also have a sensitivity to the chemicals they use and the two that I didn't have a problem with were Kleenex and Charmin.

I use Kirkland ( Costco brand ) big rolls of 425 sheets per roll of very soft embossed double ply tissue. You get 36 individually wrapped rolls for 22.99 $, which comes out to 64 cents each. And they are completely safe for septic systems.
I have open storage shelves so I love the fact that they are individually wrapped.

I actually wrote to Charmin on Friday to praise them for such a good product. This is the response I got.
Hi Caitlin,
Thanks for taking the time to share such kind words! Your reaction is just what we hoped for -- I can't wait to share your comments with the rest of our team.
Thanks for writing.

Hi, I am using Charmin right now because it was on sale and it is okay,
however, I really like Royale but I noticed my bathroom was extremely
dusty, like a white dust on everything. Has this happened to you.
