Lowes: Reading the fine print on packaging...or lack of

This is our dilemma.

Yes, we are already hanging Christmas lights.

We purchased the GE LED icicle style lights and the box description says 33 feet. We bought a strand. The front of our house is 26 feet....didn't fit. We bought a second strand...still didn't fit.

We figured OK...maybe because of the icicle part hanging down the length is included.
We checked this out...and nope...this doesn't add up either.

Right now we are in the middle of discussions with GE asking them for an explanation.

I am happy to say the conversations are friendly.
I will keep you updated.

Moral of the story:

We need clearer descriptions on packaging. Deception is not acceptable.


At this point, Lowes is not involved as they only stock the product. We figure this way if any adjustments are required for packaging and descriptions, it should come from the source.

If it says 33 feet than it should be 33 feet!!! Can't wait to hear the explanation.

How frustrating it must be when you set aside time to do something like put up lights and find that you're short and have to stop and buy more.

Well I just got off the phone with the GE lady and there is marked on the box in small letters on the front in almost the same color as the background 10.5 feet. But that is not what the specs say. I mentioned that you look at the specs for info on what you need, She agreed and will be sending out more light sets to make up for it. GE will be also telling Lowes to put up a disclaimer.
I also mentioned that I put up a poll on a forum with over 24,000 members and 50% said 34' and 41% said 33'. I did not tell Her how many people where in the poll. Just A taste of there own medicine
