I had a great cashier at the first Walmart. He was totally cool about everything, he called the manager over just to double check with the febreze to go and the car clips and the manager was great with everything so there were no problems . At the second walmart, not so much. The manager was rude and not at all understanding. It took a while but when we asked her if this walmart is different from other walmarts and showed her the receipt from the first one, she unwillingly let us have the deal.

I went to the second walmart on my 30 min break from work, worst mistake ever. The cashier I got this time seemed as if she was jealous of my deals or something and was refusing to let me have them. She called over one of the managers and once I explained to the manager what I was trying to do she completely understood and told the cashier to go ahead and give me the deal. Then the cashier turns around and is arguing with the manager that I shouldn't be using 2 coupons on one item (which I wasn't). The manager had to tell her "listen, I'm the manager and I'm telling you to do it so stop arguing with me". And even after the manager left she was mumbling " I was trying to help the store out but if they don't want her help then fine, it's not my money, that's being lost". I just thought this was unbelievable. And there went my 30 minute break. When I got my balance it was higher than expected but when she printed it out for me to check it the right amount of coupons put in so I just paid it. But while i was getting a quick lunch at McDonald's i realized that the reason it was so high was because she scanned 5 febreze to go instead of the 4 that I bought, so then I had to go back and get my refund and by the time I got back to work it was to minutes over my 30 min break and all I could do was stuff a couple fries in my mouth. But now that its all over, I'm glad I still got my deals .

For this walmart trip I went to a 3rd walmart store that I don't usually go to, and these people here refused to give me my $0.21. they were trying to fool me and tell me how what they owe me is $0.00 because the $0.21 went to pay the tax. But that night I just finished work and I wasn't in the mood for arguing so I just let it go even though 1. there is no tax on bbq sauce and 2. if there was it would be a little more than $0.21 smh. Honestly sometimes I think I know more about walmart policy than they do.

At loblaws the cashier had to get a manager because of the amount of coupons we had and the system needed a special password to continue, but other than that it was a really good trip. At the walmart (it seems that I have the most problems there) they were trying to give me every excuse in the book so that I could not use the coupon for the nail polish. But even for the simple $1.00 off the mouthwash the cashier had to call the manager over. This manager is the same one that was rude and not understanding and she has now become very familiar with me. In the end she let us have the deal because she realized we weren't backing down. My older brother actually came with me and my dad this time but he walked away because he couldn't understand why we wanted to use the coupons if the nail polish was only going to be $0.20 anyway. He was trying to tell us to just pay the the $0.20 now and use the coupon when the price is higher so the savings seems more worth it. We tried to explain it to him but he just couldn't get it. But in the end when we got hope and I was looking over the receipt I realized that she only scanned one of the nail polishes. Normally I would feel bad, but because of all the trouble and hard time they gave me I just thought well everything happens for a reason .

I was reallly excited about my loblaws trip, the only problem I had was having too many coupons so a manager had to come and type in their password before each one after it exceeded the limit or something like that. But other than that everything went great!! :D
So these are all my trips for May, I hope you all like it and thanks for all the support and the heads up on some of the deals that I got .This thread is currently associated with: Loblaws, Metro, No Frills, Olay, Pharmaprix, Red Plum, Save.ca Coupons, Shoppers Drug Mart, Smart Source, Sobeys, Walmart, Websaver

I've actually been couponing since last April, so a little over a year now. But I only recently joined smartcanucks.
I actually can't remember what the coupon was for Europe's best. I sent my dad to pick that one up on his own , so it might have been .
I will try my best!!
Thank you for adding it all up. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that . Looks like May went pretty well.

LOL i think there is a lil error there... i had over $400 for a total so i popped open excel and the total came to $409.59.
OP did a fantastic job. When you look through the transactions you see great shopping skills. Here are the things i noticed. OP only purchases items when they are already on sale or discount. When you look at the savings most of it is built in to the sales price and the coupon is just the gravy that completes the deal. The only time OP paid full price was when i item was free or close to free using coupons. OP kept incredible track of expenses, sales and coupons. Those are great shopping stratagies for any couponer.
Newbies don't be alarmed when you are not bringing home this much stuff... for couponing to work you need to have the coupons and stay within your budget.
Thanks so much for sharing OP!!! WTG in soooo many ways!Last edited by cheekysaver; Wed, Jun 13th, 2012 at 12:36 AM.
