I came across something and thought you guys would love it!
A homemade mosquito trap that really works!
You take a 2L pop bottle and cut the top off so you have a decent sized funnel. You then invert it so it sits inside the bottom half of the bottle and tape it in. Cover the outside with black paper, they like dark places.
Next, you make a simple syrup using water and sugar and let it cool down to at least 75 degrees and stir in a TBSP of yeast and pour it into the trap and set it outside.
The activated yeast lets off co2, attracting the mosquitoes, and they get stuck in the syrup. You need to replace the liquid every so often, but this 100% works!

Those are great for fruit flies in the house, they can't figure out how to get out. I hate those little buggers.

I use a sheet of paper for the funnel though, like this:

Hmmm. That's very interesting indeed! I hate mosquitoes...but I hate fogging the area or putting on bug spray even worse. It always feels so gross on my skin, especially in this heat.I dunno. *shrugs* Seems like a good thing to try. We had one of those bug zappers before...but it never really worked all that well to be honest and my DD didn't like that we used it. She felt bad for the bugs and made us un-plug it because she didn't think it was right that we got to play God and kill all the innocent bugs. LOL.

Thanks for posting this. We have had soooo much rain here, that with it supposedly getting warmer next week, I'm sure the mosquitos will be out in full force. I will try this for sure.
