Seems like the freebie is more of a reminder when you visit your eye doctor to ask about them.

"This certificate is a useful reminder to ask your eye care professional about free trial lenses, but it is not required. You may also receive free trial lenses by visiting any participating eye care professional, who will determine if ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses are right for you. Trial lenses are available while supplies last."

    Hope that helps

I've tried this before when I used to wear contacts, my optometrist said that it isn't a freebie type thing to just hand in a coupon and get out, that you have to set up an appointment and get sized for the trial pair still with the doctor.

He actually gave me a couple trial pairs of different brands, all you need to do is ask, no need for a coupon. (they were just to "try out" because they won't give you trial lenses in different prescriptions)

Depends on where you go some places actually make you go through an appointment for fitting (you don't want the contacts to not fit right on your eye and cut off oxygen do you? but then again there's always people who don't care).

I got these & didn't need a full eye exam since I've worn contacts for 20+ yrs. & I had a prescription. They are excellent contacts!

Acuvue (includes many types including Oasys - best for letting your eyes breath) also has many rebates when you buy a 6 or 12 month supply. Make sure you ask your eye doctor or retail store for the rebate brochure. I got $30 back. They often also let you try / keep a pair as you're waiting for your order to come in. With the rebate (which is not available for online purchases), it can sometimes be cheaper.
