    I just attempted to send an email to chapman's to receive my free coupon, and they advised that they just had a devastating fire that destroyed all of their coupons...

    bummer...

    Yes, this was stated on their website to the kidsclub when I went on there a couple of weeks ago...very sad...hope no one was there at the time of the fire!

    You can read all about it on the Official Chapmans Thread. They have stopped all coupons and Kids club Prizes due to their losses. I dont blame them. They have to pay to continue making their products elsewhere. Plus, pay to rebuild what they have lost. Its well worth paying FP for products to show your support to the company. They have given so much to Canada - its time for us to give back.

    I heard it on the news about the fire a couple weeks ago or so....sad...they are even helping employees...missed the details but a great company!
    Hope they can rebuilt asap...if everyone bought Chapman's ice cream when its on sale, lol bet they would be happy!

    I don't think the OP was downplaying the importance of the fire ...

    At the time they posted they might not have known the extent of the fire. I'm sure the e-mail they got back didn't go into great detail, even the kids club website just say 'due to a recent fire' - which could be the companies response to something as small as a garbage fire that affected the mail room where coupons were kept (as an example) OR something more sever, which is what the situation really was.
