Thread: OMG Shopping Carts
-
Thu, Aug 23rd, 2012, 11:34 AM #1
I've had enough...every time i go to Wally, i get a shopping cart that makes noise or wobbles.
The other day i was choosing various cart at their lineup of carts in the store and the greeter has the NERVE to tell me to put back the 5 carts in the row that were defective.
So, i started yelling at her telling her it's not my job to put them away. YOU DO IT!!!This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I do agree that WM does have a lot of defective carts - however, when I do find one, I exchange it for one that works and I put the defective one back where I got it from - regardless of whos job it is - just common courtesy and simple manners (not saying you have to do it - just sometimes it pays to be nice).
I guess between the cashiers and greeter at WM, you should consider investing your money & business at another store.

I don't feel it's fair that you yelled at the greeter. They were simply requesting that you return the carts you pulled out. Most of us know that the carts make noise and don't let it bother us, there are a lot more important things in life to be concerned about than whether or not your cart squeaks. Yelling at someone that is just doing their job is certainly not showing very good manners. I'm sorry you let these types of little things bother you, hopefully today you will have a better day.

When we go grocery shopping, I always joke with DH and tell him I will go get the crappiest, wobbliest cart they have.
Perhaps you could have mentioned to the greeter that those carts were broken so they could be marked to be repaired. Although the she may not have been the most pleasant, pulling all of the carts out and telling her to put them away really just makes you look like another one of those "People of Walmart".

I'm not fond of the greeters, but I don't yell at them. Manners dictate that you should put the carts away or mention that they are broken.

I always get gimpy carts. But it's rude that you yelled at the greeter. Yes, it may be her job, but you hauled them all out in front of her and were just going to leave them there. That's not very considerate. It's not her fault walmart doesn't have carts that are well-maintained. She doesn't sit there with a wrench and WD-40 to make sure they don't wobble or squeak.
It's really not fair to treat people that way. You cleaned up the toys you left out when you were a child, right? The same is true as an adult when out in public. You make the mess, at least attempt to clean it up.

Yeesh man, you need to calm down before you give yourself a coronary. Or get bludgeoned to death by an octogenarian Walmart greeter.
