I've been called and exempted. I work in an essential service and am married to LEO.
I wanted to do it, though.
Just hope that you are never the victim of a crime and have people who want to avoid being a juror when your case comes to court.

Can of worms anyone? I know you're judged by your peers and I'm young, but sometimes older people are wiser and have seen more of life.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

Update: Court House Called and I am fully excused! Now I can relax!
I know everyone has a thought or view, but am sorry if you have a health issue were being in a stressful situation can effect it, than do what you can to avoid it.
And it doesn't make you LESS CANADIAN if you can't!Last edited by saveadollardiva; Thu, Nov 15th, 2012 at 10:36 AM.

I was called about 10 years ago for jury duty. It was for a court case in the next town. I simply notified them that I wanted to be excused for the following reasons. That it was winter and as I lived in the country, my child was riding the bus. I didn't want to be away from my home should he come home and have any problems( ie furnace going out, accidently locked out of house). I didn't mention that my "child" was 17 and that my neighbors are only about 500 yards away. I also said that my religious beliefs prohibited me from judging other people. I was excused and never been called again.
Just call me Wolfie

Their should be a list that people can join if they want to be called. Hey if they want to do it so be it. Put them on a list and call those people up first.
and it's funny how people who can not be on a jury because of their job are like "Oh but I want to do it" HMMMM...if they didn't get paid for it I am sure they would find a way out.
Just a thought....Last edited by saveadollardiva; Fri, Nov 16th, 2012 at 01:32 PM.

It's funny as well that all it takes is a "doctors" note to get excused from Jury duty

You can;t have someone in jury duty with health concerns, obviously. There's lots of healthy people sitting at home on SC all day who can go lol

Ugh, I hope to god I'm never called.
I'd be a horrible juror, and my anxiety would go haywire.Open for all coupon trades!

Here where I live even if you are summons to jury...very rarelly will you have to be a jury. The case is normally resolved before then. Unless of course it's a major case like a murder trial. I'm a bit weird but find this court stuff interesting. So I think being a jury to me is interresting.
