I find this drama amusing because, if I understand correctly, this forum posted the link and the name of a company and then encouraged everyone to bombard that company with requests. The company turned around and put out the name and link of the forum. Right? All these people on the forum are screaming harrassment on the company and shame shame! Does anyone else think that's awfully hypocritical?

I agree; the only party at fault here is POM.
I see Nathan's point of view; they asked him a direct question on where he hear of this "freebie" and he gave them an honest answer. I also see Clare's point here; she only passed on information that appeared to be a great "freebie" to share.
Its the POM company that took it to new lows by sending rude emails out to SC'ers (and others)for asking for the coupon and to Clare for posting it.

I read the thread in its entirety prior to posting my comment. I still see no justification for the harrassment charges. The beginning post by the forum moderator is harsh and slanderous. The one person who was transparent and honest was slapped down by the rest. Have I missed anything?

hmmm, someone who works for POM perhaps?

Beginning post by the forum moderator is slanderous???
Does this mean POM might sue Boo Radley and SmartCanucks?
Legal definition of harrassment-"The term commonly refers to behaviour intended to disturb or upset, and, when the term is used in a legal sense, it refers to behaviours which are found threatening or disturbing."
It seems that POM was the only one doing any harrassment here, from the comments posted.Last edited by Freebie_expert; Mon, Nov 24th, 2008 at 09:33 PM.

"Have I missed anything?" Uh-huh!
Firstly, "the beginning post by the forum moderator", which you deemed harsh & slanderous, was put there AFTER the SC member started getting harassing emails from the company, with such customer service gems as "truly no good deed goes unpunished". Or did you miss that part?
Second, "the one person who was transparent & honest" was NOT "slapped down by the rest". And you accuse this forum thread of dramaticism. In point of fact, the merest fraction of viewers thought to express unhappiness with his actions, either via PM or a post in this thread. Allow me to also point out that those who did express their unhappiness did NOT include the original poster.
And, if you've read this thread, as you claim, might I suggest a second reading? It appears you missed a few pages of posts here & there.Better to remain silent & be thought a fool than to open your mouth & confirm it.

Wow, I cant believe a company has reduced itself to these tactics! I will never ever buy POM juice ever again, good customer service is everything these days. They could have asked politely to remove the post, that they could not handle that many requests and replied to peoples emails with a simple due to overwhelming interest... etc....
And it seems that the person posting in favor of POM is an employee ... (just my opinion)

My father has suffered for years with prostate cancer and the one thing that has helped his health improve is drinking pom juice. The company was very helpful to me when I called them for information, so it bothers me to see this attack.

It would seem that Lynda and Stewart Resnick would not really care about some Canucks up North (from cursory research). They are billionaires many times over, have many influential friends (movie stars and tv stars such as Norman Lear http://www.unitedfriends.org/downloa...ck_Remarks.pdf, and high-up political candidates), etc. And the huge corporation, that they own and privately fund, Roll International is #258 on the Forbes richest companies (owns Teleflora, Sunkist, Fiji Water, etc. I believe).

They seem to do a lot of charity work and give to the poor etc. so it is kind of surprising (not really)that one of the multitude of companies that they privately own (POM Wonderful) has a problem with asking for a "test" of their products, before they buy. (Giving to the poor and charity work is not always the result of good intentions - they can offer tax benefits, tax shelters etc. depending on the situation so who knows?)
I have never drank pomegranate juice in my life, I have eaten the fruit though.
This discussion has prompted me to perhaps try PC brand pomegranate juice. I never knew about POM Wonderful and never asked/requested their freebie but on the plus side, this entire conversation has opened my eyes to the health benefits of pomegranate juice (which I didn't know about before) and which is kind of a plus, I guess.
Anyways the beauty of living in a capitalist society is competition and there are other brands to try. And life is too short to be fraught with unnecessary aggravation. Therefore, try another brand or squeeze your own juice but the bottom line is, move on people!Last edited by Freebie_expert; Mon, Nov 24th, 2008 at 11:06 PM.

I'm very sorry to hear that, however, different people have different experiences with companies.
This company was rude to quite a few of us. It's their responsibility as a large company to treat their customers with respect, as they did for you.
Judging on how it appears as though you've signed up to post only on this thread, do you have ties to the company and could offer some more insight?
If you can't respect the opinions of other forum members, you should stay out of it. The only drama being caused on this thread is by you.
