Re: Safeway being over-priced
Tetra Broth 1.67/0.85 (Good Deal IMO)
The above is a good example. Save-On foods, which I'm guessing is generally considered lower-priced than Safeway has the above item On Sale: $2 each.
Safeway beat Save-On by 15% on price alone. Count the AMs in and you beat Save-On by 55.5%.
3 Day Sale:
Extra Lean Ground Beef 2.99/lb L4
Lucerne Grade A $2 L2
BC Blueberry Muffins (9) $5
Strawberries 1lb $2 L2
Sig. Cafe Whole Roasted Chicken $7.99
Tampax $5
Community Paper also has a $1.50 coupon on 4L Lucerne Milk
There's also a B$100G100 for the week.
Inside the flyer there's also a B$40G100 on selected P&G products.

I wasn't trying to say Safeway is overpriced on everything. They have some great deals. I used the buy $100 get 100 airmiles a couple weeks ago on good deals like Campbells soup (12- $5.99) made it all the better. Coupon they gave me $10 off $75- paid $87 on $148 before discount. I guess what I tried to say is do my homework. Need, quality, as well as price comparison all go into the equation. I think Safeway is good- staff are generally great, and we all need to eat. Also Safeway gives far more airmiles than anyone else. Generally I tend to shop at 3 local stores- less gas and time. At the end of the day- I find I can save quite a lot this way and we can all use the extra moula. PS- I'm looking forward to using the free tax program. How would you rate it in comparison to the ones you buy? We have basic returns. Thanks.

^^yes they do apply but you would need to buy 10 to make the #'s work. I am still going to do the deal when it is at walmart for $1 each.

The pudding packs are a great deal...use the $2.00 off fruit when you buy 2 snackpacks! I thought I saw a goldfish deal...need to go hunting some more thru the flyer.
