GENERAL RULES

• A maximum of two Package Trains will run at any one time with the exception of the Advent Train (This is due to the time requirement on the Advent Train)
• You may only ride 1 train at a time. Trains must be finished before joining/conducting another train. If riding the Advent train, your package must have been received before you can join another train
• Package trains will be open for boarding for a minimum of 24 hours
• Seats on each train may be limited. The conductor and mods will confirm your seat. Until that time you are not a rider on the train.
• All package trains must be approved by FallenPixels
• SmartCanucks owner / mods / admins /poster of this thread and conductor are in no way responsible for any lost / stolen / misplaced gifts.

All riders are approved by a team who work hard to ensure that package trains run smoothly and everyone receives their gift.
You are not a rider until your place on the train is confirmed by this team

TO HOST/RUN A TRAIN

• Conductors must have a minimum trade rating of 100
• Must be an active member of SmartCanucks
• Conductors are approved at the discretion of the trade/train mods
• Approval is on a per train basis
• You may not host trains back to back

TO RIDE A TRAIN

• You must have a minimum of 50 posts.
• Must meet the trade rating specified on the train – these ratings cannot be from all VWL Trains or RAOKs
• You may have no negative trade ratings (exceptions may be made if they are over one year or at the moderator's discretion – no exceptions will be made if these ratings came from package trains)
• You must be an active member of SmartCanucks.
• You must post if you are participating in any other trains and exchanges.
• If you do not meet all of the guidelines this does not mean you automatically are excluded. Please PM the train mod as exceptions can be made

RIDER RESPONSIBILITIES

• You must wait for the conductor's approval before you are considered a rider
• When requesting a seat, you must include the following statement with the information requested by the conductor: "I have read and understand all the Package Train Rules/Guidelines. I understand if I do not follow the guidelines my name will be added to to the consequence list in the sticky and may be banned from riding future package trains”
• You must include a list of current non package trains you are riding in your request
• Once approved, you must send your information within 24 hours or you will be removed from the train
• You must mail by the stated date. Please note that package trains MUST have tracking unless delivered in person. Package mail can cost $10-20 dependent on weight and size. You are responsible for mailing, sending from a store does not have the same feeling as opening handpackaged items and you cannot ensure they mail on time.
• You must be active on the package train thread. A minimum of 10-15 posts are required on each train (too many people disappeared during trains without sending, this is a way to ensure the member is still active on the board). Advent train will have a larger post requirement due to type of train
• You must post when you have received from your buddy (preferred that you state what you received and/or photo of gift)
• If sending liquids, they must be sealed in a ziploc bag (if they leak the package will not be ruined)
• $2+ items (from wishlist) are considered full size items
• $1/$1.25/$1.50 items, samples, trial & travel size items are considered extras

CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FOLLOWING ALL RULES

• If you do not follow any of the above rules, you will be excluded from riding one future package train and will receive neutral feedback
• Repeat/Second offences will also mean you are excluded from at least two package trains and possibly all future package trains
• If you do not send a gift, you will be excluded from all future package trains
• If you do not send a gift, you will receive two negative ratings. One from your buddy and the other from the conductor.
• If you do not communicate with the moderators regarding why the gift was not received, you may also receive a trading ban at the Trade Mod's discretion.

*NEW*
As some you are aware, we recently changed package train rules to allow for things like stickers, scrapbooking embellishments and seeds etc to be sent on regular trains without users having to set strict rules as on package trains. Sadly this rule has been abused on several trains.

For a short time we are posting these guidelines and they must be included in any thread where items (not just coupons) are being sent. Any further abuse of this rule will result in it being removed and coupons only may be sent.

"This is not a package train, all items sent must fit in a regular sized envelope that is no thicker than 2cm and weighs no more than 200g (3-4 stamps max). Only one envelope can be sent (and to one member). NO train may cost more than 4 stamps to send."



*NOTE* This does not apply to conductors who want to send out prizes on their trains

Explanation of a Package Train

You sign up and send a wishlist of items you would like
You are paired with a buddy and sent their wishlist, questions are also asked in the thread so you can find out more about your buddy
You send a package to one person and someone (it is likely different than the person you are sending to) sends to you
NOTE: postage will be more expensive than regular trains, often $10-15 but as high as $30 if sending out of province on bigger trains

Rider Responsibilities:

• You MUST send XX full sized items from your buddy’s wishlist

• All items must be in new/unused condition (other than gently used movies, books, games, etc.).
• Liquids must be wrapped well to prevent leaking and ruining the package (a ziploc works well)
• Glass items must also be well wrapped and protected to prevent breaking and ruining the package
• $2+ items (from wishlist) are considered full size items
• $1, $1.25, $1.50 items, samples, trial & travel size items are considered extras
• Please also keep in mind that since you will be sending actual packages that shipping will cost more than regular coupon trains (on average about $10-$20). If you do not have CP’s Venture One card you may want to look into it. It’s free and anyone can join, you can use your SC name as the "business"
