Pinecone Research Discussion

Looks like we are all waiting for the illusive Pinecone ad or a referral. Add me to the list - I would love one too!!! :shrug::-)

well i've been a member for close to a year and have never recieved a refferal link , which to my understanding is the only way you can join.

i'm guessing they have enough people and are not sending out any refferal links. :(

Just our luck Ergo!!!! However, think positive..........they really need us, they will find spots for us - they just don't realise that we are out here yet!!!! :razz:

I've been watching for banners for a long, long time and so far no luck. this sounds like a great survey site to belong to.

am copying the portion that concerns the new plugin Pinecone is
getting it's panel members to install for their new surveys.
Amylynn.org is a legit website, but I am wondering if any of you have
had to install this plugin yet? I received the email from Karen Scott
concerning the new installation, but have not had a new survey to do
yet.

Warning to Pinecone Research Members
I realize a lot of you may have already downloaded Pinecone Research's
plug in, I would recommend contacting them ASAP because you have been
infected with a Trojan. Here they are threatening their members with
lawsuits, and now they could be involved in a large suit themselves.

Karen Scott emails people with this:

You may be prompted to download AristiScope's CopySafe Web plug-in if
the test determines the new format is incompatible with your system.
Feel free to download the plug-in. This will be required for future
surveys and will avoid interruption to survey participation.

The Trojan was discovered with Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet
Security. Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security is the LEADING virus
protection money can buy, all virus scanners get their patterns from
Trend Micro. So please know this alert has been authenticated.

ArtistScope_IE_42.exe is the name of the program.

Possible_Movly-1 is the name of the trojan.

TSC_GENCLEAN is the name of the malware.

After it's been removed...

It still stores itself in the system restore, which means it keeps
being placed back on the hard drive. The only way to totally remove it
is, to right click my computer icon on your desktop click on system
restore, and turn off system restore (click apply), then turn it back on.

Wow, did anyone else get the email today about new survey formats? I sent an email to 'Karen' asking whether it was just this survey that required Windows, or whether ALL Pinecone surveys will do have to be done on a Windows computer, and explained that they would lose a lot of great opinions from people running Macs, Linux, etc. We'll see what she says. But if it's true, I'm pretty bummed!

:lol:now with the new survey formats alot of ppl will probally stop doing surveys who dont have windows, that opens more spots for us on the LONGGG waiting list..hehehe...

I would LOVE a referral to Pinecone research too...please add me to the not-so-long-maybe-now-we-have-a-chance-to-get-in waitlist...Thanks!

Is there a particular age group they definitely do NOT want? Say I was 75 (I'm not :tongue:) - would I be rejected?

I've read through a lot of this thread and saw where some received invites from CanadaSurveyPanel, so I checked through all my emails from them and found invites to the Survey Doctor, Unique Rewards, Buzz on Shopping, TNS, Ipsos I-Say, and Public Opinions. No Pinecone though, but now I know to make it a point to actually read the emails I get from them. LOL

Just wondering about the age thing though...
