The Real Canadian Superstore has the $2 Janes chicken manufacturer's coupons on their coupon board. There's a better chance of getting them there because they replenish the coupons.

According to Safeway on Facebook, the store manager has the ultimate decision as to whether they accept coupons. Maybe you can talk to the daytime store manager to confirm what their policy is?

It sounds like we need to have general mills contact safeway... we are allowed to use as many as we want of those coupons... it is NOT in safeway's coupon policy to only allow one fpc... some dork up the chain of command will probably get a corporate spanking for irritating customers... specially if some smart butt gets on something ohhhh like youtube and has to explain it to them... yaknow i could just see that happening in the very near future.

I just got off the phone with general mills... it is NOT i repeat NOT supposed to be this way. The more calls we place stating the stores the faster it will be fixed. General Mills is going to be contacting safeway to correct this. Here is the number. (905) 212-4000

If that is long distance i highly recommend using your gmail account to make the call (as long as you have a headset!) it is free to call anywhere in north america with it. I used my gmail and the call was just over 11 mins.

What can I say my Dad was a union head honcho for many years... he taught me how raise heck the right way and how to get on it and fix things fast.

For virtually all coupons, in the section "To the Dealer", there is some phrase like "...providing you accept [the coupon] from the customer...", which gives the Dealer the discretion to accept or refuse the coupon.

I can't speak for anyone else Becks (boy do i love all the great info you give us!!!) But general mills, Proctor and Gamble, Lever, Rickett, Pepsico, SC Johnson and tons of other companies that provide safeway with deals expect them to accept their coupons not give the customers a hard time. Every time I go to a store and they give me a hard time I end up standing at the till in pain to get it sorted out. It is not just Safeway it is Walmart as well so i HAVE to spend my time correcting this at home in order to have less pain. General Mills is really unhappy Safeway is making it hard to use the coupons. We need to stand up for ourselves or we will get pushed around to no end. It is ok if you don't want to contact the companies and I totally get that... I am willing to be the squeaky oil... I gots me some pms I can take em LOL! *flexes and laughs*

Get on a first name basis with a couple of cashiers. They are less likely to give hassles to customers they feel they have a personal connection with.

I have 3 cashiers and 1 shift manager I like to deal with. I always say hello to them by name and will even go in longer lines when heading to a cashier if one oif them is on duty.

Yes, I was surprised to read on their FB page that, despite their coupon policy, store managers have discretion whether to accept coupons or not. I would personally talk with the daytime manager first, then up the change of command and contact the regional manager, etc. I would also try going to another Safeway, if possible. But, whenever I use coupons, I have the expectation in the back of my mind that I could run into trouble, no matter where I shop.
