I did post it under the matchups but here it is here too so you don't have to scroll
Safeway West
(Sorry it is late! Safeway likes to hold out on putting the eflyer up and i don't get mine through canada post until monday or tuesday when the sale is almost over. I am not sure what safeway is paying canada post for but i am pretty sure it isn't to get a flyer to people well after sales are over (many miss the 3 day sales completely and just do their shopping at walmart instead around here.))

I might do this. I donate to a charity that wants vitamins and they include them in the hampers at Christmas time.
I checked the Webber Vitamins. There's two vitamins (a Vitamin D and maybe a B6) that are between $4.40 per bottle and $5
So buy 4 bottles x $4.40 = $17.60
Collect 100 airmiles for 4 = $10.50
Repeat 5x * 17.60 = $88 plus tax
Purchase some other items for $12 to donate to get to $100 to get 100 airmiles bonus for spending $100
Out of Pocket Expenses:
Total Cost $108.80
- ( Value of aiir miles earned 5*$10.50 = $52.50 + $10.50 (spend $100) = $62.50 )
= $45.30
Donate Vitamins to a Charity
Tax credit is approximately 45% (once you donate the $250 minimum amount). Rate varies a bit by province.
At 45% you would receive a ~$48.96 credit for taxes.

That being said, if you can donate $100 worth of stuff, and only be out of pocket by $1.30, you're doing pretty good in my books.

You don't get tax credit for the taxes you paid. So you only get tax credit on the cost of the goods($100*.45%=$45). So you don't get paid to shop because $108.8(total cost) - $62.5(AM value) - $45(tax credit value) = $1.3 loss.

If you work hard you can reduce your income up to 20% with donations. That can lower your income tax bracket... if it doesn't you make well over 100K a year and it still helps you...almost 50% of your donation value would come back as a income tax refund. That is pretty amazing... you get to help people and not pay for it and get a tax break too.
