    Ok, so I am not a huge fan of the Cheerio Hearty Oat Crunch Cereal. Like, I sort of want to throw it out. BUT I don't like to waste food, so I thought of making Cheerio Bites! IF you are in the same boat as me, these are really good for someone with a sweet tooth. Great for kids snacks for school or after school!

    Ingredients:

    5 Cups Cheerios Cereal
    3 Tablespoons Margarine or Butter
    1 Bag Mini-Marshmellows {5 1/2 cups}

    1Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
    2In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter and marshmallows uncovered on High about 2 minutes, stirring after each minute, until mixture is smooth. With pot holders, remove bowl from microwave.
    3Immediately stir in cereal until evenly coated. Press mixture evenly into pan using buttered back of spoon. Cool at least 10 minutes.
    4With table knife, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store in a loosely covered container.

    Awesome, quick & easy recipe, thanks for sharing

    Another idea for people who don't like sweet cereals (like myself) is to top your bowl of cereal with plain, unsweetened yogurt. I have been doing this with the Cheerios Hearty Oat Crunch and actually really enjoy the cereal now - the tartness of the yogurt balances the cereal out perfectly!

    Thanks for posting, ladies

    I have a a full package, pin and all (up for trade btw) and was trying to figure out what to do with it. Marshmallows are a no-no though, and I am phasing out dairy. So any other suggestions would be appreciated!

    Hmmm maybe you could try using them in sometype of Peanut Butter/Oatmeal/Honey no-bake bar recipe? or perhaps dairy-free yogurt?

    You could maybe try dairy free chocolate, melted and dip spoon sized bites into it and then let it harden in the fridge

    Great idea! Thanks for sharing. For some reason I actually love the cereal though. I've gotten tons of free boxes with my free boxes lol. But I might try this.

    It's a great idea!
    I do this with a LOT of the cereals I buy (especially when I'm not a huge fan of them... or they're slightly stale -- someone didn't close it properly).

    Great idea and such an easy thing to make! :D
