There's about two weeks until Thanksgiving!
Are you hosting a dinner or dining out?
Have you decided what you'll be serving?
Favourite go-to recipes?
Recipes you'd like to try?
Unusual recipes?
I'm hosting dinner at my house and will be inviting close relatives over to dine with- about 10 people.
I haven't decided on sides yet, but I bought a turkey this weekend and will be roasting a whole duck tomorrow right...so I'll have duck fat!
Liquid gold to slather on and in the turkey and/or to roast potatoes in.This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Thanksgiving dinner will be at our house. We are doing it on Sunday. Im making turkey with stuffing. Im putting garlic throughout the turkey and then seasoning it and covering the turkey with bacon strips.. Also will be making mashed potatoes, lots of gravy; turnips and carrots, mashed and seasoned with honey. They will also be LaSoeur peas (for those who dont like turnips). A nice tossed salad. And lots and lots of homemade Cranberry Sauce. Also my pickled beats, marinated mushrooms, marinated red and green peppers and of course lots of olives (the little ones will eat the whole jar of olives). Dessert will be apple pies and pumpkin pie with ice cream. There will be 6 adults and 5 children.

we're going to my inlaws for dinner. it's the usual stuff - roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, carrots, green bean casserole. i'm going to take my kids apple picking this weekend so i'll be bringing some home made apple crisps for dessert. there's usually about 15-18 people. I might make some homemade cranberry sauce too (there's only a few of us that like it but to me, it's not thanksgiving without it!)

I just bought a small 5lb turkey from No Frills for a little over $5 so I am going to do the turkey with potato stuffing, some veggies (not sure what kind yet but possibly asparagus), deviled eggs, cheese, homemade pickles, and buns.
The leftover turkey will be turned into turkey pot pie done in the crockpot with bisquick topping since I have a major craving.

Vegetarian Thanksgiving so it will pretty much be everything but the turkey
Mashed and roasted potatoes
Roasted carrots
Steamed turnip fries
Mushroom gravy
Stuffing
and some kind of apple dessert maybe bread pudding with a chunky apple sauce
also homemade pickled beets and maybe cranberry sauce but the last few times I made it with fresh cranberries it had some kind of funky taste not sure why it's just sugar and cranberries

My get-together is small, my brother and his wife are coming over. Menu is roasted turkey, gravy, green vegetable soup, mashed potatoes, mashed rutabaga, pickled beets, cranberry sauce. I haven't decided on the dessert. I was thinking of pumpkin pie, but I noticed I still have a jar of mincemeat, so I might switch my dessert to use it up.

Splitting it up into two days - since it's just the three of us.
Sunday - turkey cousin (big chicken, since I am the only turkey lover!) roasted with stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, spaghetti squash sauteed with onions.
Monday - baked ham, cabbage rolls with bacon - not sure about sides yet.
Desserts - pumpkin pie, carrot cake (they end up being snackies, not after the meals!)

Hoping that everyone's meals went well - I know ours did, and we were very full after each meal!
Now it's on to dealing with leftovers - not a bad thing!
