Dinner tonight was classic Blade Roast with mashed potatoes, gravy, peas and a nice tossed salad. Dessert was homemade banana cake.

Crackers with butter and Ramen noodles.............again.
Tonight, tuna...on a bagel...does that cover all the food groups then?
When your milk gets chunky is it turning into cheese automatically? Just wondering.
Who likes to go fast? I do! I do!
There's no coupon for this, sorry.

I've got some really lean pork chops that i'll brave the snow/rain/cold to bbq, some baked potatoes and baby carrots. the kids and I made a cake with a big fondant snowflake on it for dessert.
When life hands you lemons, make a lemon pie... lemonade will be all like WTH?!?

New recipe! Chicken florentine. It's in the oven now, I think it's going to be good!

Tonight is the perfect night for homemade soup,
There's room at my table, so please join my group,
Tomato Soup is simmering awaiting the next stage of prep,
& when you taste my soup, you'll surely give me rep,
There's garlic, carrots, celery & onions galore,
You can't get my soup from a can or the store,
Believe it or not, a small shot of gin as well,
Please grab a seat when you hear the ring of the dinner bell.

Yay, our son came over for supper (gosh I miss him!). We had the pork loin I slowcooked yesterday, with potatoes, peas, coleslaw and potato salad. He was uber-happy there were leftovers of everything for him to take home.
He was always thankful for homecooking when he lived with us, but now I guess it's been more apparent since he's mostly been living on takeout, sandwiches, soups, etc.
After his first bite, he just said "Just how do you cook like this, so good?", lol! (oh, he knows!)

Yesterday was leftover chili with baked acorn squash. Tonight was citrus and rosemary roasted chicken with carrots and mashed potatoes. It was the first time I prepared chicken by leaving it in brine overnight (water, sea salt, honey, lemon and orange zest, cardamom pods, and thyme). What a tasty difference!
Oh, we also made ginger cake for dessert. DH and I are trying to find a recipe that most closely resembles what his mom used to make when he was little. He says we're getting close!Last edited by snuffaluffagus; Mon, Nov 11th, 2013 at 11:09 PM.

I have a craving for sweet & sour pork with peaches, peppers, onions, mushrooms etc over rice, so I think I will make that today. Have some tenderloins to use up..
