I feel your pain! I used to live in the Niagara region and would frequently drive to Burlington to bring my little brother to the train station to visit his dad. I feel like the QEW Niagara was under construction continuously for about 5 years. Didn't pay attention last time I went to visit family, so not sure if that is done yet. To visit family I take the 401, 403, Lincoln Alexander Parkway and the QEW Niagara, and of these, the QEW has always been my least favourite part of the drive.

heard about that accident OP
it ended sadly
One man was killed and another seriously injured in a horrific crash Sunday which closed the eastbound lanes of the QEW, just east of Cawthra Rd., for several hours.
OPP confirmed a 30-year-old male passenger of a white van was ejected and killed in the collision, which occurred around 7:30 a.m. The highway’s eastbound lanes were closed until shortly after 4 p.m.
The driver — a 25-year-old man — was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

thank goodness you were not involved in any of the actual accident, from Shwa's post that was tragic.
