i am still waiting for the sign up bonus.
i read it can take 30 days and in 2 days it will be 30 days.
i want to do a live chat to make sure they got the orange key i signed up with, but finding a live chat option is like finding gold nuggets in my underwear.
so far, they have not impressed me.This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Tangerine's customer service & rates have greatly decreased since Scotia took over.
Nothing but a slightly better version of Scotia Bank now.
They are only interested in getting new customer's and new deposits , don't really care much about existing customer's anymore , just like other banks. They used to be different , but not anymore.

Thank you for the info. I was considering Tangerine.....I am with ScotiaBank now but they are killing me with service fees, and they don't give a damn that I have been a customer since 1976. I am now looking elsewhere....likely BMO.

i am disappointed for sure this far into it.
i thought they gave free cheques like PC, but nope.
only the first order is free, after that you pay for them.
it sucks they are now owned by scotiabank.
scotiabank does nothing for their customer's loyalty.

What do people think of "President's Choice Financial"?
Is it better than all the rest?

Hey anawhatsme, I'm sorry to hear you haven't gotten your bonus yet. Just give them a call, and put them on speaker while you do something else. They're pretty friendly.
As for the comparison between PC and Tangerine, I use them for different things.
I use PC for my day-to-day banking because they have unlimited cheques, and I get (a few) PC Points from it.
Tangerine is my long-term savings, and a few smaller self-directed accounts for TFSA/RRSP.
My biggest annoyance comes from PC Financial honestly. If you want to move money from your savings account to your chequing account you have to wait until the next day. I understand that the purpose is to stop you from raiding your savings account, but I don't use that savings account for long-term savings - it's just my shorter term planned spending. So I have to have a bit of forethought moving money from my savings account to my chequing account.

On their Contact Us page, mention is made of their 8am-8pm Twitter help.
http://www.tangerine.ca/en/about-us/...-us/index.html
Post general queries on social media and see if get asked to provide specific information via the messaging option.
Also have Facebook page-I've noticed on some corporate FB pages, complaints tend to get a rep replying and asking for details through e-mail or messaging.
When I've used the Twitter help for three different service providers, someone usually responded within minutes if not within an hour of tweeting, depending on what other queries/issues they were handling.Last edited by Ciel; Sat, Oct 25th, 2014 at 10:11 PM.

I know, one of my friend had this problem too. It was embarrassing for me actually. I referred her, and she said she did everything , but they still haven't pay her, so I acutally called them for her, and they said yeah it should have been paid, but when she called, they said no, it didn't look like you used a referal code, so now there is no way for her to prove that she did used my code. She said it was too much trouble, so she gave up on them and decided to continue using her old bank account.

Just curious, have you tried reaching out to them via social media? They're usually pretty good at responding that way in my experience

It sucks how no one does free cheques anymore and you first free book is only about 10! Sometimes less!
I found a great company that does cheques for much cheaper then the banks. I used to use them for a company I worked for and ten found out they do personal cheques as well- I have ordered from them twice and they are much more affordable . They are called ASAP cheques

Yeah , they are pretty good.
Open a chequing account and Savings account with them . Park most of your money in the Savings account and earn a high interest and when needed transfer them to your chequing account.
but remember it takes 1 business day for the money to go from Savings to Chequing , I don't think weekends and holidays count.
They at least have kiosks in most Loblaws and Some RCSS, No Frills stores , where the rep can help you a bit, but not much in case a face to face meeting is needed.
but almost all of it will be online or over the phone.
plus you can use all CIBC machines for transactions. but CIBC tellers won't help you , with any PC matteres so its CIBC self serve ATM's only.
