Galen Weston must not be able to meet his targets for money making.....changed policy on clearance products . No longer going to get 50 % off .........unless enough customers speak up ...... I for one am very very disappointed , and will be contacting them Please consider speakng up as well. They make a lot of money .......they don't need that extra 20 % !

They changed at our store too. It sucks there is a big difference. I used to get bread when it was reduced at RCSS because it was 50% off - now it is only 30% it is the same as WalMart, so i might as well just get it there.

You haven't seen the 30% off stickers before? I have. I thought it was just that some items were 30% and others were 50%?
Maybe its just the pricey downtown stores that do that?
Sucks, why would you want old stuff at just 30%? They can keep it and you get a fresher one that lasts longer, right?Apply every possible promo code to your cart, at every store that you visit (and get points for cash back on top of that?). It's sweet and easy with HONEY.

i submitted a complaint on maxi's website.
Its just dumb because 50% is so easy to calculate in your head and decide to buy. No one is going to start pulling out their calculators to calculate 30% off. They are going to end up throwing out so much. They already do. So much bread.Must have a U.S. itunes account to choose a free product on Poshmark: New Accounts Only:

It would not surprise me if there was a reason to "save their money" because there is likely IT matters for the points programs plus call centres and then the stores (how many times have SCers posted about the points not showing up on till screens because systems are down). Since the PC Insider's Report has also jumped the shark (print copies) and moved to an in-store and online mention formats, there are just the smaller in-store banner costs for this holiday season's product promotion plus any t-shirts staff may get.
I will have to check the Fortino's baked goods clearance rack this weekend. Last Monday, most of the goods were pink-stickered for 50% off including bagels and tea biscuits. I don't often look at the meat section for discounts so will have to see what's going on there.
Appreciate the discussion about the matter!Last edited by Ciel; Fri, Dec 5th, 2014 at 01:27 PM.

At the nearest RCSS, often the pink-stickered fruit and veg is too far gone for even 100% off, never mind 50%. But yesterday, the pink-stickered fruit and veg at 30% off was good stuff. Maybe just a lucky day.
Abuse coupons, not people!

I recall about 2 years ago, my local RCSS stopped accepting store coupons with manufacturer coupons, and enough people complained and they started allowing it again. PLEASE continue to let the company know, through the store comment cards and online and anywhere else you can manage, that you hate the change. We might be able to get this turned back around.

They have a facebook page, by the way! Make sure to voice your comments and concerns there, loudly!

Independant here in Regina - 30% of meat, 50% of produce, boxes items and household goods. I saw 50% of milk that was expiring in 4 days. I will check RCSS this weekend.
