Good morning, everyone.
Well, it would appear my happy pills are working, I have a smidge more energy. I just wish they would stop trying to do battle with the infection in the middle of the night when I'm trying to sleep. I switch between being comfortable to being cold a dozen times an hour (I only wish it were a hot cold hot cold thing, I LOVE the heat ). Then I end up sleeping away the day.
And I'm in the doghouse (cathouse?) again. Quincy cat is not impressed that I let Lily dog drink first from the water bowl (I didn't actually say anything to her, she just happened to be beside me when I poured fresh water). He was not happy to have doggy germs touch his lips. He was even less happy to step in the small puddle Lily spilt (he was so upset he actually hissed at his paw ). Here's hoping I don't sleep through any interesting segments from Lives of Leisure unfolding in my home.
Off to make breakfast. Or nap. As long as I don't do both at once, I should be ok.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

IF you are hosting Christmas Eve, Christmas dinner or a holiday do you tell people what you are serving?
The good part about being single is that I get invited to Xmas dinners & don't have to host. This year, assuming the weather co-operates, my Mom & I will be having Xmas Day dinner with my bff (bff is having Xmas Eve dinner with my Mom & me). For the last 16ish yrs, I've had Thanksgiving Easter & New Year's Day dinners with bff & I usually end up in the kitchen cooking the veggies, so I know what's being served ahead of time.
Is your menu predictable, do you make the same things every year or do you change it up?
This year, our Xmas Eve dinner will be different, since bff will be with us. We usually have fish & potato salad, but since bff is allergic to seafood, we're having cabbage rolls (what we usually have Xmas Day).
Are you guests asked to contribute something to the meal OR if they ask do you accept them bringing something to contribute?
Whenever I go somewhere, I usually bring dessert, sometimes an appetizer. We don't ask anyone to bring anything but their appetites.
Do you cook some of your meal ahead of time or perhaps do your prepping ahead of time?
This year, because of my surgery being Dec 23rd, my Mom is making the special Xmas desserts today & will be making the cabbage rolls tomorrow (she's staying with me downtown one night cause I have to go back to the Dr early the next morning & it's easier to go from my place). I'll be baking some shortbread cookies & dog biscuits tomorrow (will get the batter ready tonight).
Is your meal fancy or simple/relaxed.....
A bit of both. The good china will be used, but it's all about enjoying ourselves. I like to dress up, so does my Mom, bff & family, not so much.

I`m having my first pain free day in over 6 months. Have 2nd load of laundry in dryer...hung the 1st load to dry. Made 2 huge roast pans of nuts n bolts...hubby`s favourite Christmas treat. Am making beef stew and tea biscuits for supper and will crochet for a while this afternoon. It`s amazing what a person can accomplish when not in pain!
