i was just wondering, has anyone ever won a prize from y108 before? by entering the online contests?
I have won tickets, and prizes from them
Hi driii123,
I can't respond for BillyJack of course, but another member here just won a blender with maybe a dozen or two entries. However, I was reading the Q107 pages earlier and some members are putting in hundreds of entries each for certain prizes and since there is only a single prize in most cases, many (and maybe all) of them won't win!
The encouraging thing is that some people here are winning occasionally. A discouraging thing however is that most of the good prizes are multiple-market (MM) reward types. Unless my interpretation is incorrect, that means we're competing with the members of Q107 and probably dozens of other radio stations in the U.S. and Canada that use the same service for that single prize.
About all you can do to "improve" your chances is try to somewhat randomly spread your entries out over the contest period so the rules of probability theory will roughly apply ... and even that won't help much! ;)
Good luck!

Hi driii123,
Further to my reply to you yesterday, I would strongly suggest that you join up with Q107 (see below). It seems that you can acquire more points daily there and enter many of the same contests. The trivia questions overlap with Y108 but Q107 gives you 10 x 1000 points daily for visiting the "bonus sites". On the down side, they do not appear to have games (seems minor but you would be surprised how many points you can earn playing the right ones and doing so strategically).
If you're not a Q107 member already, don't join up just yet! My wife would be happy to formally refer you so she could get a cut of your future earnings! Hint, hint! :-)
Cheers!
