The Importance of Walking
Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $2000 per month.
___________________________________
My grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old
and we don't know where he is.
__________________________________
I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.
______________________________
The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.
____________________________________
I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing..
________________________________________
I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.
______________________________________
Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.
____________________________________
The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'
____________________________________
If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.
__________________________________
I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years,......
just getting over the hill.
__________________________________
We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

AND
Every time I start thinking too much
about how I look,
I just find a Happy Hour
and by the time I leave,
I look just fine.
You could run this over to your friends
But just e-mail it to them

I received this from a couple of friends and I decided that it should be circulated in honour and a tribute to those fine people!
Hats off to the Japanese. The best of culture and discipline.
10 things to learn from theJapanese :
1. THE CALMNESS: Not a single visual of chest-beating or wild grief. Sorrow itself has been elevated.
2. THE DIGNITY: Disciplined queues for water and groceries. Not a rough word or a crude gesture.
3. THE ABILITY: The incredible architects, for instance. Buildings swayed but didn’t fall.
4. THE GRACE: People bought only what they needed for the present, so everybody could get something.
5. THE ORDER: No looting in shops. No honking and no overtaking on the roads. Just understanding.
6. THE SACRIFICE: Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the N-reactors. How will they ever be repaid? What discipline and courage!
7. THE TENDERNESS: Restaurants cut prices. An unguarded ATM is left alone. The strong cared for the weak.
8. THE TRAINING: The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to do. And they did just that.
9. THE MEDIA: They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No silly reporters. Only calm reportage.
10. THE CONSCIENCE: When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the shelves and left quietly.

THIS WONDERFUL PRAYER WAS PASSED ON TO ME SO I AM PASSING IT ON.
EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!
Lord, I just want to say THANK YOU,
Because this morning I woke up and knew where my children were.
Because this morning my home was still standing,
Because this morning I am not crying
Because my spouse, my child, my brother or sister, my parent does not need to be buried
or to be pulled out from underneath a pile of concrete,
Because this morning I was able to drink a glass of water,
Because this morning I was able to turn on the light,
Because this morning I was able to take a shower,
Because this morning I was not planning a funeral,
But most of all I thank you this morning because I still have life and a voice to cry out for the people of Japan .
Lord I cry out to you, the One that makes the impossible, possible,
The One that turns darkness in to light,
I cry out that You give those mothers strength,
That You give them peace that surpasses all understanding,
That You may open the streets so that help can come,
That You may provide doctors, nurses, food, water, and all that they need in a blink of an eye.
For all those that have lost family members, give them peace, give them hope, give them courage to continue to go on!
Protect the children and shield them with your power.
I pray all this in the name of Jesus!!!
To all ouremailfriends, please continue toforward this so that we can pray together for the people in Japan
