So not sure if she was blowing smoke or if this is legit but thought I'd let others know what I heard. I'm glad it isn't my local store anymore!
Purple bunny. The price match policy did change approx 6 months ago. It is a guideline only it is up to the store managers discretion. That being said I would confirm with either the store manager or manager in charge of the front end or any assistant manager for the reason there was a guideline sent to the stores that said it only matters what the grade of meat is not the brand. Please keep in mind maple leaf prime is a higher quality meat compared to regular maple leaf. As far as Asian flyers go. It was also recommended that stores match local flyers only. There is nothing in the guideline that is specific to a type of flyer. It was also recommended that stores stick to province wide as well again it is up to the store managers discretion.

    Hope that helps

I know all that, was just posting to let people know who shop there regularily as to what I was informed whether it is true or not.

I haven't had much issue with my local store which is a different location.

I am not sure if it helps, but NoFrills should have (as in some stores do) Real Canadian Natural Spring water 24 x 500 ml for $1.87. The next bet would be, Sobeys: Nestle Pure Life, 24 x 500 ml for $1.99.

If you want Air miles, Rexall sells 12 x 500 ml for 1.99 (can't remember the brand, it's on the last page of the flyer) but gives 2 bonus Air Miles.

    Hope it helps.

    I wish

I use a very helpful little site called SaleWhale (not able to post links yet). You set your zip code and the radius (by default it would set your location as the closest big city and show you stores on a radius of 10 km) and you can search groceries to your heart's content. For example, searching for almonds on your behalf, I put in a zip code I used to live at, near Toronto, and the best result is Fortinos, at $7.99 per pound (page 7), so $1.76 per 100g, which is better than Metro at 1.89 per 100 g (page 9). Then again, maybe you do not want the "selected varieties" Fortinos advertises. BTW, can one PM if the flyer says "selected varieties"? (Fortinos even names them; it's "Tamari stye" or "Hickory smoked").

~edited to say: it's completely your fault now that I want the milk chocolate almonds from SDM at $11 for 1.1 kg

edited again to add that on Walmart's site the small GV tins of almonds are $5 for 275 g which means $1.82 per 100g, except I don't know if you pay tax on it or not. I know most super centers carry bulk nuts as well, you could call ahead and ask the price.

I used to use Salewhale too but found a lot of the time it was unhelpful. For example I'd type blueberries and every other kind of berry would come up despite blueberries being on sale. They also only do really major grocery stores I found too. And on the off chance I did find something I liked often it would be recorded wrong on their site when I checked the actual flyer.

But a very small portion of the time it does come in handy.

I dont know if this is considered a hot deal or not. But I am new to pming and thought posting this would at least wind me up subscribed to the thread and I might learn something.

I have seen members that really like this Green Works stuff, I have never used/bought it so I dont't know if this is a good deal. Staples has the dish soap and toilet clener for $2 and it looks liek there is a least a 50c coupon from Clorox and I also see one from Walmart. Do these stack? Would make it much better deal.

Costco is largely known as the best (cost and quality) place to buy whole almonds. Sold in a 3lb bag. We've bought them a dozen times, but I'm not sure of the price.
