I know!!! I had been waiting for the $200 event. I guess SDM is trying to be smart with the economy being the way it is but I am ticked off! :rant:

dang that sucks that they reduced it.. wonder if this is what its gonna be for good now or if this is just a one time deal. not sure if i should save my points for next bonus redemption to see if the rewards go back up.. hmm

i have some 13 thousand points can any one explain what this means for me.its my first time redeeming SDM points.learned about them in nov.08 here at SC only.please & Thank you.

Can a person wait to redeem pts. at the next Redemption weekend hoping that a person will get $50 instead of $20??? Maybe they are hoping alot of people will redeem and accept the reduced change and make it standard...

im saving mine because in the rules it says a person can only redeem 3 times a year

I'm thinking this is the new standard bonus redemption for 2009 as they have never varied away from the $100 and $200 bonuses before.

At the back of any SDM receipt it gives the dollar amt discount for a certain number of points.

3,500 - $5 off
7,000 - $10 off
15,000 - $25 off
30,000 - $55 off
40,000 - $75 off
75,000 - $150 off

With your 13,000 points you can only redeem 7,000 points for $10 off. You get better value for your points if you save them up.

With the bonus redemption you get added value to your points.. in this case

30,000 points give $60 off
40,000 points - $85 off
75,000 points - $170 off

In previous bonus redemption events they gave a max of $200 off with 75,000 points redemption

That means new standard points for the traders- which would be 75000/170 = 441 .... this sucks big :(

I really, really, REALLY hope this is not the case. I have been saving up my points and putting off many purchases until the $200 event, to be "smart" about it ...

... this would really put a crimp in the whole plan.

Fingers crossed for a one-time deal, maybe since they are also doing the movie tickets thing.

This is too bad. I have been waiting for this too. Well I don't need anything with all the shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, bodywashes I already have so I will wait until they come back with the $200 bonus redemption. We have to think positive!

maybe they have put this limit because of the cineplex deal too.............
