Well, I finally got my response from veep Julie Adam. Seems I'm very much in the minority; but I feel happy that I've been heard and the democratic process is alive and well. See below: Hi ,

This is the toughest decision we make every year because we know that a % of the audience don’t want us to flip to the All-Christmas format.
We also know that there are varying views as to what the perfect day to launch is.
Believe it or not, we’ve been getting requests since before Halloween.

For what it’s worth…

Our decision is based on audience input.
We just finished a large on-line survey (our biggest of the entire year – over 4,000 people responded).
Here are the results… (and this is only with CHFI listeners)
Approximately 87% of the audience voted for All Christmas music.
Of the people that want All-Christmas music – 77% voted for us to start between November 7th and December 1^st.
So we went with the day of the Santa Claus Parade which is our annual tradition.

I’m not telling you this to convince you to like it …just to let you know that the decision is based on the input of many.
Believe me, the last thing we want to do in a day is upset a listener.

I did the survey and even voted for 2 weeks prior to Christmas, as it even gets you in the mood to shop, so I am quite surprised by the figures that they released saying 77% are in favour of having Christmas music now. But the advantage we all have is to change the station and listen only when YOU want! HAB a great day all!
