Thread: Toilet Paper

Has anyone done a comparison on the different sizes of toilet paper and how many sheets are per roll. There doesn't seem to be an industry standard. Each brand seems to have their own length of paper per roll. It seems to me we are at their mercy when it comes to toilet paper sizing. I just posted this from my stash in the basement. Please feel free to add to this list by way of suggestions on your best
Royale regular 30 = 72 2 ply has 324 sheets per roll ( this was 7.99 no coupon)
Royale Velour 8 = 16 2 ply has 165 sheets per roll ( this week on at Rexall for 2.99 - 1.00 coupon)
Royale Velour 12 = 24 2 ply has 165 sheets per roll (usually buy at $4.99 - 1.00 coupon)
Royale Velour 15 = 40 2 ply has 220 sheets per roll
Charmin 4 mega rolls in 1 2 ply 6 = 24 has 328 sheets per roll (clearance from Target)
Costco Kirkland brand 30 rolls had over 300 sheets per roll but the package was over $15.00<a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/savings/w7OIIln/">

If you're ever going to buy the Royale Original (regular) at Shoppers Drug Mart, make sure you get the mega roll size instead of double, since the mega size has more sheets per package even though they're both suppose to equal 24 single rolls and are priced the same ($3.99 to $4.99 when they're on sale at SDM).
Royale Original double rolls: 12 = 24, 2 ply, has 253 sheets per roll (12*253=3,036 sheets per package)
Royale Original mega rolls: 9 = 24, 2 ply, has 340 sheets per roll (9*340=3,060 sheets per package)Last edited by My two Canadian cents; Tue, Feb 23rd, 2016 at 05:30 AM.

One study found that no matter how absorbent, thick or wide toilet paper is, people tend to use the same length. So to maximize savings, you actually want to consider the length and ignore number of sheets or area.
It's exhausting when they keep changing the sizes! I'd just buy with a rule of thumb: When it is cheaper than 12 cents per roll (24 for double, 36 for triple, etc.), I'd buy 4 month's worth. It is still good price to buy under 20 cents per roll, but I'd only buy one pack.
