The Tangerine Bank (the "Bank") Limited Time Interest Offer of x.xx% (the "Offer") has been calculated based on interest rates current as of January 02, 2016 and is available to existing Tangerine Clients who receive notification that they are eligible for the Offer from a Tangerine Contact Centre Associate and who verbally accept the Offer ("Eligible Clients"). The Offer is available to Eligible Clients on all eligible deposits for a period of 180 days from the date they accept the Offer (the "Promotion Period") to a maximum of $500,000 in deposits to all Tangerine Savings Accounts combined (CDN dollar, non-registered Accounts only; herein referred to as "Applicable Accounts"). It is not applicable on any other Account types, including (but not limited to) the Tangerine RSP Savings Account ("RSP Savings"), Tangerine Tax-Free Savings Account ("TFSA Savings"), Tangerine RIF Savings Account ("RIF Savings"), Tangerine US$ Savings Account, Tangerine Business Savings Account, Tangerine US$ Business Savings Account, or Tangerine Children's Savings Account ("CSA").
Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly for both the Posted Rate interest payments and the Additional Interest payments.

Both Additional Interest and Posted Rate interest payments will be calculated based on the same balance for the month of July, despite the fact that the Posted Rate interest is paid on July 31, 2015, one day before the Additional Interest is paid.). Any Applicable Account closed prior to the payment of Additional Interest will forfeit any Additional Interest calculated during the month in which the Applicable Account is closed

we were successful on the third call, calling daily and asking a note put on our account that were were disappointed that as a long time customer, we did not get the offer

That is a good rate, I am getting 2.5% until the end of May and then I will look for another home for our money!

Tangerine is not as good as ING was. Tangerine should not give some people 3% and give other customers a lower rate. Should be equal for all.

I think it's silly it's not the Same for all, both dh and I have the 3 % offer, I am going to just move it from one account to another to see if we get the bonus. We have a chunk just waiting until we buy the new car.

Tangerine seems to target individual clients. Only some people receive this 3% rate offer. As new clients you do get 2.4% for 6 months though.

Tangerine is playing a game.
We play the game but write our own rules. We will transfer to President's Choice Financial if their rate is better. Plus there are new players too: EQ bank is one, offering 3%

At least people have more choices.

Were you - or has anyone else been - able to get the rate applied retroactively? Drives me crazy when they give different rates like that and don't seem to care about customer loyalty.

That is good if it doesn't say available to new customers only, then you should be able to get it!
