New changes at SDM

The way that GC are being processed is changing as of October 13. There were also several LB products that were missing on the shelves and the store stated it was on back order with the warehouse. There is no guarantees that the items will be coming back.

I went back to SDM last night and was able to buy a GC. The cashier explained that the GCs are now being scanned instead of swiped to load them. She ended up having to swipe it because it wouldn't scan. The items that I usually buy are still on back order.

I've noticed that Get stationery items and a few Life Brand items are being cleared out in general. No more Life Brand tissue boxes at the smaller Shoppers in town. Have not checked the food store Shoppers to see if that is the same situation there.

bought the CT gift cards last night, and he said how you buy them has changed a little. Instead of scanning and swiping the card, it is now just scanned, and then it takes a while longer for the system to verify it, if that makes sense. Basically, they no longer have to swipe the magnetic strip.

The only part I know has changed is as nalaric mentioned above, they scan the gift card instead of having to swipe it through the payment machine. My local store is happy about the change, they are expecting it to speed up their lines quite a bit.

^That's interesting. There was a problem with the GC/CC readers last weekend when I was making a purchase and paying with GCs. At least 2 stores in my area had the problem because they were talking with each other. The regional manager showed up, so maybe they were making changes to the process and were expecting problems.

Bought a SDM giftcard Sun last week and I still get points. I didn' t notice if the Cashier scan it nor swipe it. I was busy digging my optimum card what matter most is the points. I still get points for buying SDM giftcard.
