Thread: MBNA Cashback Mastercard No More
-
Wed, Nov 2nd, 2016, 12:34 PM #1
Hi Everyone,
So I just got a letter from MBNA telling me that my Cashback World Mastercard will now be a Visa instead.
I am now looking for a new cashback Mastercard. What would be the best no fee Mastercard to get? Is it the Tangerine one?
Thanks. This thread is currently associated with: N/APlease use my referral link for latest Cashback App, Caddle: https://caddle.ca/signup/referral/568ee0438fb24

I have the Canadian Tire one, and am quite happy with it.

Someone who paid with a Visa card at Cdn Tire today was asking about CT money for his purchase. Cashier explained that if he had the CT Options MC, he'd get e-money but only cash or debit payments resulted in the paper CT money. Customer said I'm doing this all wrong!
Cdn Tire has one cashback MC: https://www.ctfs.com/content/ctfs/en/cards.html
Tangerine has a special 3 month 4% CB offer: https://www.tangerine.ca/en/spending...ard/index.html
Not aware of any PC MasterCard offering cash back:

BMO has 2 cash back MCs- one is no fee; a third card is for students:

I got the Tangerine MC to replace the discontinued Optimum MC. I'm really liking it - 4% CB (for 3 months) is adding up nicely. Their categories seem to be broader than other banks, e.g. I shop at a grocery store that apparently identifies itself as an ethnic grocery store. One of my other CB CCs doesn't recognize them as a grocery store, but the Tangerine MC does.

Received my new card (MasterCard converted to Visa) yesterday, and I won't be activating it. Once my current MBNA card expires at the end of the year, I will close the account, and open a new card with Tangerine.
