it's different for everyone
I'm glad exercise is helping you; but exercise doesn't work for me. It is an aggravator and destroyer in my case.
2/3 of my muscle fibres are damaged/destroyed from when my 2007 flu shot paralyzed me, and I have 1/3 left to support my body and do my work. That's not enough, so I have to support myself with a cane and walker.
Any time I overtire myself by walking, lifting, or any physical activity at all, I get a relapse for weeks, and can barely stand or walk until the muscle fibers recover again. It is sometimes hard to tell when I'm over-doing, because I want to get things done and be as active as my former self, and I forget to be careful. But I always know when I've over-done it a few hours later or the next day, because my legs can't support my body.
What helps me to cope from day to day is periods of bedrest and lots of protein in my food, and over time I have healed enough to cope better than at first. The medical people don't think I'll get more improvement, but they don't know everything.
Does pain affect your brain?
I ask because my short term memory sucks.
It sucks even more when I've written down that I've taken a medication and then I can't remember if I did or not.
Today I may have double dosed on the strongest med., but I dare not call Telehealth cuz last time I did, they thought I did on purpose, and kept asking me that throughout the conversation.
I'm doing my darndest to stay awake as the somethingorother therapist is
coming to see Grandpa today.
Perhaps more black coffee is in order?
