Valient, yes scar tissue from previous surgeries creates more pain
We are finally having a sunny day and I am going to try to go out for an hour, hope everyone has some relief today : )
Lots of pain; feet, legs, arms and hands have been swelling for the past few days, can hardly grip anything. Not sure what's wrong. Maybe some allergy or something like that.
Have to get rid of this excess fluid somehow.

It sounds odd, but I've found the best thing for any sort of swelling is to drink a lot of water to flush your system (& also reduce salt intake until swelling goes away).Quote:

Pain is now in my knees too, I could scream! Yet I must keep walking and
moving to not lose the ability.
This dampness is horrific to my body, it just so aches.
know all about pain, if you can afford it go see massage therapist they know how to remove the water,again my favorite go swimming you will be surprise,No pain in water i go 5 times a week for water excerzise then i just play in water for 1 hr,3 yrs 3 operation 2 knee replacement and back at the end of august.a year ago i could not barely walk and 3 baths a day.we just need to move

Can hardly move at all, I'm partially-paralyzed from GBS (French polio).
No transportation or access to pools, except the flood-water on the Prairies right now.
Have cut down on food, using reverse-osmosis water, but still swelling.
Just wondering how everyone is feeling? I am hoping for a relatively manageable pain day for all.
I am being referred to a pain clinic in Toronto for chronic pain due to endometriosis which caused nerve damage. Does anyone have any experience dealing with a pain clinic? Just wondering what analysis they do and what treatments are offered?
Any thoughts and/or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm still having swelling and pain in knees, feet, hands. Can hardly make a fist or grip anything these days. Is it the GBS symptoms again, or is it the sulphites in the 2 pails of ice-cream I've been eating during the past few weeks (which I purchased with 2 $5 coupons)??? Or possibly I've gained weight from them. I don't know, but the 2nd pail of ice-cream is nearly empty now, so pretty soon I'll be able to make my deductions based on the process of sudden ice-cream elimination from my diet.:-)
On the plus side, I am walking much better indoors and outdoors, have been able to run a little indoors. I'm not using my walking-cane indoors, and my goal is to run outdoors as soon as my balance is a little better. I can hardly wait.
For my pain, I'm taking 2 Acetaminophen every AM and night, and lots of muscle lotion, and it helps me to have a better day. Hoping for answers for all of us. Try to have a good day, everybody; there is still so much we can enjoy!
On Easter Sunday, 3 white crocus and 1 purple crocus opened their blossoms in my flower beds next to my son's memorial rose bush. They're so beautiful, and are still blooming every day. In the midst of our trials and pain on this Earth, we can still find beauty and happiness, and we have hope for complete healing and the fullness of God's blessings in eternity. :angel:

Valiant, I'm not sure what your condition is but have you tried Aleve? I find it works better then advil and tylenol though it can cause stomach issues. I also get these salonpas patches at the chinese grocery store. They're like icy hot but on bandages and cheap compared to the regular pharmacy brands (about 3.99/20). They work fantastic for specific areas with out getting lotion all over your clothes.
I have a chronic shoulder / neck issue. The doctor can't figure out what it is. He thinks arthritis but I am the opposite of most people, I have all my problems in the warmer months... which is not really a good sign. I'm not in a lot of pain right now but the insomnia's started with it acting up at night :(. Last year by the middle of the summer I was living on 3 hours a night roughly. As much as I'm sick of the cold and the rain I'm dreading going back to that.
Not sure why but today was so bad. Lower back pain was worse then ever and I didn't do anything to aggravate it. Legs jerks are back too. I was given a new drug to try for my neck but haven't tried it yet. Sometimes I'm scared to try new ones although I've never had any bad side effects. Has anyone tried Baclofen and what did you think of it? He switched me to this for night time neck pain and spasms. I only need something at night once in a while, not every night. I've been using diazepam for this and it works great but I hate how I feel in the morning so he said to try this instead. Diazepam makes me feel hung over when I wake up and lasts for the first few hours. Not nice. If I'm going to feel hungover I should at least have had the fun the night before. :)
